Summer Swim Team
We are delighted to invite children ages 4 to 18 to participate in the esteemed Columbia Swim League as part of the Columbia City Parks and Recreation Greenview Summer Swim Team. Our team will compete in the highly competitive East Mid Division of the Columbia Swim League.
At Greenview, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where children are encouraged, engaged, and inspired. Our experienced coaches will impart proper stroke techniques to all swimmers, ensuring they develop and excel in their swimming abilities.
Practice Details
The 2024 Summer Swim Team's first practice will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, and Thursday, May 16th, from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center pool. When the pool is ready, the team will move to Greenview Park Pool at 6700 David Street, Columbia, SC, 29203. All swim practices are held in the evening. We request that all aspiring swimmers register through the team's official website before attending practice sessions. The team will hold regular parent meetings with summer swim team information.
Swim Attire
Girls must wear a one-piece black swimsuit during practice, while boys should opt for black trunks or jammers. Girls should wear a black one-piece swimsuit for swim meets, and boys should wear black swimsuit jammers. Swimmers must have a swimsuit for practice and a black swimsuit for the Columbia Swim League summer.
Essential Gear
To ensure safety and optimal performance, each swimmer must have a swim cap and goggles for swim practice sessions, Team T-shirts, and Team Summer Swim Caps for All Columbia Swim League swim meets.
Parent Volunteers
To ensure a productive summer swim season, Parent volunteering is essential for the success of the summer swim season. The parent volunteers, swim meet timers, summer swim meet stroke and turns officials, and swim meet administrators.
City Meet Details
The eagerly awaited Columbia Swim League City Meet, which serves as the summer league championship, will be hosted at the Solomon Blatt PE Center Natatorium on the University of South Carolina campus. The City Meet is optional, and attendance is not mandatory for any swimmer on our team. Further information regarding the City Meet will be provided later in the season.

We are thrilled to welcome young swimmers to be part of the Greenview Summer Swim team and look forward to an exciting and rewarding season. Together, we will strive for excellence and embrace the joy of swimming. All summer swim team fees must be paid before a swimmer can begin summer swim team practice.
