Summer Swim Team
We are delighted to invite children ages 5 to 18 to participate in the esteemed Columbia Swim League as part of the Columbia City Parks and Recreation Greenview Summer Swim Team. Our team will compete in the highly competitive East Mid Division of the Columbia Swim League.
At Greenview, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where children are encouraged, engaged, and inspired. Our experienced coaches will impart proper stroke techniques to all swimmers, ensuring they develop and excel in their swimming abilities.
Summer Swim Team Registration
Early Bird Registration is from April 1st to April 30th, the summer swim team fee is $140, and summer swim team registration from May 1st to June 20th, 2025, the summer fee is $150. Summer Swim Team requirement: A swimmer must swim a half lap unassisted to participate in the summer swim team.
Practice Details
The 2025 Summer swim team will begin pre-season swim practice at the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center, with practice days and times TBA. Greenview Park Pool is ready. The summer swim team will begin practice at Greenview Park Pool in the evenings, with practice days and times TBA.
Swim Attire
Girls must wear a one-piece black swimsuit and Team Swim cap for all summer swim meets, while boys should opt for black brief swimsuits or jammers and Team Swim Caps for swim meets. Swim practice girls' one-piece swimsuit, swim cap, and goggles. Boys must have swimsuits, swim caps, and goggles for swim practice.
Essential Gear
To ensure safety and optimal performance, each swimmer must have a swim cap and goggles for swim practice sessions, Team T-shirts, and Team Summer Swim Caps for All Columbia Swim League swim meets.
Parent Volunteers
Parent volunteering is essential for the success of the summer swim season. Parent volunteers include swim meet timers, stroke and turn officials, swim meet administrators, and the summer home swim meets canteen.
City Meet Details
The Columbia Swim League City Meet, the Summer League Championship, will be hosted at the Solomon Blatt PE Center Natatorium on the University of South Carolina campus. Participation in the Championship is optional, and attendance is not mandatory for any swimmer on our team. The coaches will provide further information on the City Meet Championship during parent meetings or via email.
Columbia City Parks and Recreation Greenview Summer Swim Team
We are thrilled to welcome young swimmers to the Greenview Summer Swim team and look forward to an exciting and rewarding season. Together, we will strive for excellence and embrace the joy of swimming. The summer swim team fee must be paid, and the Columbia City Parks and Recreation form must be fiilled and and turned in before a swimmer can begin summer swim team practice.
