Dolfins February News

Hello Dolfins Families,

Registration for 2021 is open for all families! The 2021 season officially begins with our first practice on April 12, and we are looking forward to a year that looks more normal than 2020. Though we hope that the need for severe restrictions reduces over the season, we are planning on several operational changes in accordance with State and County guidelines. Some of the key changes are below:

  1. Competition - We expect a return to competition in a reduced form. Under current County and State guidelines dual meets are permitted. However, larger meets between more than 2 teams are currently not permitted.
  2. Battle of the Ages - With the current guidelines for competition, our largest fundraiser of the year is in jeopardy.  It will likely will require significant changes that will impact the number of swimmers and the amount of money we are able to raise for the Parent Club.
  3. Spectators - In accordance with County and State guidelines, spectators and parents will be limited to ensure physical distancing can be maintained. When spectators are allowed on deck, the capacity of the area around the pool will be marked to ensure non-household members are able to maintain appropriate physical distancing.
  4. Social activities - Many of the social events that are traditionally held by the team may not be able to occur this summer. We do expect to be able to have some smaller activities, in compliance with County and State health guidelines, but there will likely be no large all-team gatherings.

We hope that despite these changes you will join us for the upcoming season.

The current registration fee is $515/$495 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $545/$525 on March 1.  The current rate for high school swimmers is $360/$340 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $390/$370 (Dist. Res.) on April 1.  You can register online or call the District Office (M-F, 9am-5pm) at 925-682-0896.

A payment plan is available.

If you register by 2/28, the payments are:

  1. One-third at the time you register,
  2. One-third is due March 1,
  3. And the final third is due on April 1.

If you register in March, the payments are:

  1. Half at the time you register,
  2. And the second half is due on April 1

If you use the payment plan, you must pay with a credit card, which will be auto-charged on the payment due dates.

In the event that you register for a program that is canceled or changed to comply with health orders, the District will provide a credit on your account to use towards other Rec & Park programs or a refund.

As a reminder, registration is also open for spring programs, including Surf N Turf Fit Club and Pre-Swim Team Clinics, which begin the week of March 8.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool soon!
