NOTE FROM COACH TALLI
Hello Dolfin Families!
Welcome to Summer! The swimmers once again exceeded my expectations with around 90% best times at the meets this weekend. Their hard work is clearly paying off! This week we will be focusing on Starts, Turns and Finishes. Please remember that swimmers learn at different rates. Don't get frustrated if your swimmer is not diving correctly yet. Please have patience with them and they will get the hang of it with more practice.
This week we will pull out the File Cabinet during practices. Every family has a file where we place ribbons, stars, and other important information. Have your child get in the habit of checking their file so they don't get too full. It takes a little time to get things filed after a meet so be patient.
Do you know what Goal Times are? Now that your swimmers have starting times for the season, they can start setting goals.
You can find the Goal Time chart on our Team Unify website. When a swimmer reaches a star time, they receive a little Star in their file. Some people sew them on their towels, sweatshirts, or bags. The goal times are Red, White, Blue, County & Gold. The best way to set goals is to look at your times and work towards the next star. I often have swimmers ask me what the County time is for an event. County times are not a reasonable goal until you have reached the Blue Star. Let me know if you have any questions about the Star Times.
I am excited to have both of our meets at home this week! We run the best meets! Remember it is important for your swimmers to come for warm-ups. We check in our relays during warm-ups. Missing swimmers will be replaced. Swimmers earn their spot, on relays. The computer puts together the fastest swimmers so different swimmers can be chosen as swimmers drop time. Please check in with your coach before you leave any meet in case relays have changed.
Coaches will be choosing Swimmers of the Week for each age group starting this week. We will also start handing out Otter Pops after all practices on Fridays, for anyone who has popped a time that week!
Have Fun, Swim Fast!

NOTE FROM VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Hello Dolfin families : )
Just a couple of reminders this week:
1) If you are still looking to sign up for jobs to fulfill your 4 regular (dual) meet shift requirements, keep checking the job sign ups for home meets as jobs are added based on need.
2) Don't forget you only have until 6/18 to sign up for your 3 shifts at Battle of the Ages. Don't wait as it can be tricky to fit in all three of your required shifts if you wait until the end when the selection is slim.
As always if you have any questions please email me at [email protected]
Thanks : )
