Hello Dolfins!

The 2023 season is almost here, with practices starting on April 10!  Please read this entire email for lots of information and be on the lookout for weekly team emails (generally sent Monday’s) with information, updates and upcoming deadlines.

Registration Fees

We wanted to remind returning Dolfins that if you haven’t yet registered for the 2023 season, the price increases on April 1.

The current registration fee is $580/$560 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $610/$590 (Dist. Res.) on April 1.

The current rate for high schoolers is $390/$370 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $420/$400 (Dist. Res.) on April 1.

Families that have not registered by April 1 will be de-activated from the team website and will no longer receive team communications. Register now so you don’t miss out!

Practice Schedule

¹Practices for Mini’s, 6 & Under and 7/8 move to PH Ed Center Pool on May 15.

Alternate PM practice for all age groups (except Mini’s) available for those unable to make AM Practice, 5:00-6:00 pm.  PM Practice is M/Tu/Th only.  Check weekly email for additional no practice dates/reminders.

Due to roof construction at the PH Ed Center this summer, summer practices and meets will be at College Park High School (201 Viking Drive).

Mini-Dolfins

Spring & Summer Mini’s are currently full with a waiting list.  We are doing our best to work through the current enrollment and move swimmers who are ready up to the team. If you are wait listed, you will be contacted if a space becomes available for your swimmer.

Team Website

Some information on the website is only available if you are logged into the website.  Returning families can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page if they have trouble accessing their account.

New families should have received an email from the Dolfins website to finish setting up their account for the team website.  The email has the subject “Your password to access Pleasant Hill Dolfins On-Line”.  If you have not received that email, or if the link has expired, you can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page.  If you still have trouble logging in, please contact me at [email protected] or (925) 682-0896.

Please note that each family has one login email.  Additional emails on your account receive team communications only.  You can add additional emails if there are others who need to receive team emails for your family.  When logged into the site, click on the arrow in the menu next to your name, then click on “Update Profile”.  Make sure you “Save” when you are done making changes.

Waivers

Waivers are signed electronically in our registration system.  Swimmers who do not have a waiver on file will receive a separate email from our registration system ([email protected]) with the subject “Please complete enclosed waivers for Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District”.  You must click on the link in the email to sign and submit the waiver.  Waivers must be signed for your swimmer(s) to participate in practices.

Work Fee Deposits

ALL swimmers must have a $500 Family Deposit check turned in before they can participate in practices (one deposit per family).  Please make checks payable to “PHD” and write the swimmer’s name on the memo line.  Checks will ONLY be cashed if work assignments are not completed.  There is no Family Fee for families with Mini’s only.

Work assignments will be discussed at the Parent Meeting which will be held immediately after Time Trials on May 20.

Checks can be turned in to the District Office (147 Gregory Lane, M-F 9am-5pm) until noon on April 10.  After noon, checks will be collected at the pool when swimmers check in for practice.

Lifeguard Training

The District is hiring lifeguards and swim instructors for the summer!  All applicants need to have American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification.  We still have space in classes starting, April 3 (spring break) and April 15 (weekends)!  These positions are great opportunities for swimmers to give back to their community and learn valuable life skills.  Check the website for classes and application information.

Team Gear

Team gear is available from the Elsmore Swim Shop in the Countrywood Shopping Center.  Team suits, backpacks, caps and parkas are available.  Here is the link for our Dolfin Team page on their website:

Please note that ALL SWIMSUITS, PARKAS, BAGS AND CAPS ARE FINAL SALE AND CANNOT BE RETURNED OR EXCHANGED.  We will have a suit try on day at the store in April but if you'd like to get ahead and order now, please visit the store to try on suits before ordering!!!!
