PHD WEEK ONE TEAM EMAIL!
Greetings Dolfin Families New and Old!
Welcome to the first week of the 2023 Pleasant Hill Dolfins swim season! We are so excited to get started! This is the first weekly email of this season and you can expect to receive a team email every Sunday or Monday morning for the duration of the swim season!! Please make sure to read these emails in their entirety as they will contain very important meet entry deadlines, social event details and so much more! The weekly email always starts with the note from the head coach and so here we go!
NOTE FROM COACH TALLI
Hello Dolfin Familes!
I am excited to welcome all new and returning swimmers and their families to the 2023 Dolfin swim season! Our team has grown a lot this year and the biggest impact will be at our combined 9/10 & 11/12 practice in the Spring. I would like to invite the returning 12 year old swimmers to move up to the 13/18 practice for Spring practices only to help balance the number of swimmers in the pool.
With so many new families this season we decided to attach our digital "Bluebook" to this email. It gives you all of the important information you need to get you started. It has been completely updated for this season. We are still working on updating our website for the 2023 season. Due to construction on the Pleasant Hill Middle School campus this Summer, all practices and meets will be held at College Park High School starting when school ends.
Parents are welcome to watch practice and it is also ok to drop your swimmers off once you know they are comfortable without you there. It is very important that parents stay back from the pool. Coaches are experts at fixing goggles and solving most problems. It is important for swimmers to learn to communicate directly with coaches. If we need your assistance we will find you. If you have other children at the pool during practice, please keep an eye on them for their safety. Be sure to pick up your swimmer right after practice because coaches need to be 100% focused on swimmers in the pool.
We understand that parents and swimmers are very busy with work, school and other sports and can't make it to every practice. Spring practices focus on stroke development with a lot of skills and drills. Since swimmers learn at different rates, we generally stay with the same skills each week so if they miss a practice, they won't miss out on those skills.
Our practices run back to back. If you have an urgent question, I am happy to answer while I am transitioning swimmers or direct you to a board member who may be able to assist you. Otherwise the best way to reach me is by text or email. I will get back to you once I am done with practice. I am always happy to answer any questions you have.
