Dolfins News: Elections, Fall Swim & Community Survey
Elections
Every year in August the Pleasant Hill Dolfins Parent Club holds elections for board members. Each family on the team is a member of the Parent Club and is allowed one vote towards the election of board members. Positions are elected for a 2-year term. The following positions are up for election this year, with terms ending in 2025:
- President
- Vice President
- Fundraising
- Meet Operations
- Battle of the Ages
In addition, we have some open positions that need to be formally filled by election. These positions are 1-year terms, ending in 2024.
- Team Operations (1 year term)
If you are looking for a way to help the team, have fun, be in the know and be part of team decisions, please consider nominating yourself for an open position. If you are curious and want more information about any open positions, please respond to this email or email President Jim Libby [email protected] and we will answer all your questions!
Please forward nominations to [email protected] or [email protected] by Tuesday, August 15th.
After nominations close, a ballot will be sent to the primary email on each account via Survey Monkey.
Again, please reach out if you have any questions or would like to nominate yourself for an open position.
Thank you!
Fall Swim Team Clinic and Pre-Swim Team
We are offering Fall Swim Team Clinics and Pre-Swim Team Clinics starting in August to keep your kids in the water and improving their strokes and conditioning. For August, the clinics meet 2 days/week, and the Fall Clinics all have a 2-day option to make it work with other sports. Please see the flyer for details. Registration opens on Monday, July 31 at 9am.
To maintain eligibility for Rec Swimming, swimmers must take a break from January 1 to February 28. We will start up again in March with a Spring Clinic and Dolfin's Swim Team starts again in April.
Space is limited so we are putting this information out to Dolfin team members first before we invite swimmers from other teams. The Pre-Swim Team groups have coaches in the water for hands on learning, but the other programs are coached from the deck. Coach Talli will be the lead coach for all groups.
Please contact Coach Talli if you have any questions.
Community Survey
Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District recently mailed residents a community survey. We are looking for your priorities for future improvements to our parks and facilities. Everyone can share feedback in the survey online here.
To help collect surveys, we are looking for volunteers to make follow-up phone calls to residents to remind them to fill out the mailed survey. Volunteers are needed August 7-9, 1-4:30pm at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center (233 Gregory Lane). There will be a short training session before making phone calls. If you are available to help, please sign up for a volunteer slot through Sign Up Genius here.
The feedback from the survey is very important to the District Board as they prioritize future facility improvements, including renovation/replacement of our 70-year-old community pool, through a possible future bond measure.
Thanks everyone! Have Fun! Swim Fast!
