Hello Dolfins!
The 2024 season is almost here, with practices starting on April 8! We are so excited to have you swimming with us this year, our 60th Anniversary! Please read this entire email for lots of information and be on the lookout for weekly team emails (generally sent Monday’s) with information, updates and upcoming deadlines.
Registration Fees
We wanted to remind returning Dolfins that if you haven’t yet registered for the 2024 season, the price increases on April 1.
The current registration fee is $610/$590 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $640/$620 (Dist. Res.) on April 1.
The current rate for high schoolers is $410/$390 (Dist. Res.), increasing to $440/$420 (Dist. Res.) on April 1.
Families that have not registered by April 1 will be de-activated from the team website and will no longer receive team communications. Register now so you don’t miss out!
Families who used the optional payment plan will have the final balance auto-charged on April 1. If you need to make changes to your payment method or have questions about your payment plan, you can login to your registration account, or contact our District Office staff at (925) 682-0896.

Alternate Summer PM practice for all age groups (except Mini’s) available for those unable to make AM Practice, 5:00-6:00 pm. PM Practice is M/Tu/Th only. Check weekly email for additional no practice dates/reminders.
Mini-Dolfins
Spring Mini’s is currently full, with a waiting list. We are looking to add a second session for Spring Mini’s. Those who are currently waitlisted will be given priority registration. If your swimmer is waitlisted for Spring Mini’s, you will be contacted if a space becomes available for your swimmer in either session.
Team Website
Some information on the website is only available if you are logged into the website. Returning families can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page if they have trouble accessing their account.
New families should have received an email from the Dolfins website to finish setting up their account for the team website. The email has the subject “Your password to access Pleasant Hill Dolfins On-Line”. If you have not received that email, or if the link has expired, you can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. If you still have trouble logging in, please contact me at [email protected] or (925) 682-0896.
Please note that each family has one login email. Additional emails on your account receive team communications only. You can add additional emails if there are others who need to receive team emails for your family. When logged into the site, click on the arrow in the menu next to your name, then click on “Update Profile”. Make sure you “Save” when you are done making changes.
Emails from the team website come from [email protected]. Please add [email protected] so that team emails are pushed to your inbox.
Waivers
Waivers are signed electronically in our registration system. Swimmers who do not have a waiver on file will receive a separate email from our registration system ([email protected]) with the subject “Please complete enclosed waivers for Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District”. You must click on the link in the email to sign and submit the waiver. Waivers must be signed for your swimmer(s) to participate in practices.
Work Fee Deposits
ALL swimmers must have a $500 Family Deposit check turned in before they can participate in practices (one deposit per family). Please make checks payable to “PHD” and write the swimmer’s name on the memo line. Checks will ONLY be cashed if work assignments are not completed. There is no Family Fee for families with Mini’s only.
Work assignments will be discussed at the Parent Meeting which will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 7:00pm at the Pleasant Hill Teen Center (147 Gregory Lane).
Checks can be turned into the District Office (147 Gregory Lane, M-F 9am-5pm) until noon on April 8. After noon, checks will be collected at the pool when swimmers check in for practice.
Volunteer Fingerprinting
An important new bill has passed in California, Assembly Bill No. 506, which is a new state law to protect children from sex abuse from youth organizations.
The new law requires fingerprint-based background checks for adult volunteers that are in direct contact with or supervision of children more than 16 hours a month or 32 hours a year. For the Pleasant Hill Dolfins Swim Team, all adult volunteers must be fingerprinted. The only exceptions to the fingerprint requirement are:
- Volunteers aged 17 or under
- Buy-Out Families
- Families with only Mini-Dolfins
Background check results are confidential, and we are unable to share the results of the fingerprint background check between organizations. If you have been fingerprinted for a different youth organization, you must still be fingerprinted for the Dolfins unless you meet one of the exceptions above.
There is no cost for fingerprinting when parents use a Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District approved Live Scan Location. We have scheduled three on-site fingerprinting dates:
- Saturday, May 11, 10am-12pm at PH Aquatic Park
- Thursday, May 16, 5-7pm at PH Ed Center Pool
- Sunday, May 19, 8-10am at PH Ed Center Pool
We will provide a Sign-up Genius for parents to reserve a fingerprinting spot for the on-site dates. There will also be an option for parents to get fingerprinted at a Live Scan location in Pleasant Hill. More information, including the Live Scan form, will be sent in a separate email.

Lifeguard Training
The District is hiring lifeguards and swim instructors for the summer! All applicants need to have American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification. We still have space in classes starting, April 1 (spring break) and April 13 (weekends)! These positions are great opportunities for swimmers to give back to their community and learn valuable life skills. Check the website for classes and application information.
