Dolfins February 2025 News
A NOTE FROM COACH TALLI
Hello Dolfin Families!
We are busy planning for a fantastic 2025 season, and I can't wait to get started! Our March Spring Clinics have a few spots open if you would like your swimmer to get a head start on the Dolfin season. Spring Clinics focus on stroke and turn development and can be very helpful after the winter break. If you would like to register but the class is full, please add your swimmer to the waitlist so I can try to add them. Some swimmers may be dropping if they do not meet the pre-requisites.
I want to remind everyone that Dolfin registration fees increase on March 1. Our 7/8's age group is currently full plus a waitlist and 9/10's has just one open spot remaining. It's exciting to see so many young swimmers doing tryouts to join Mini-Dolfins and Dolfins! Our Spring Mini-Dolfins class is full plus 24 swimmers on the waitlist! I will be adding a second group to accommodate all these swimmers. We added a PM Summer Mini-Dolfin group for working parents and that currently has 23 swimmers!
I will be looking for Dolfin swimmers to be Jr. Coach volunteers again this year. It's a great opportunity to learn valuable skills. They must be 12 years or older. If you have a swimmer who is interested, please have them contact me directly by email or text. Once I have a list of interested swimmers, I will hand out applications and set up a training in April. I'm happy to answer any questions from parents as well but I only want swimmers who are interested.
Have Fun, Swim Fast!

A NOTE FROM TEAM OPERATIONS
Hi Dolfins!
I can’t believe we are getting so close to the start of the summer swim season! Just a few things I want to share:
- I am working on getting all swim meets and events entered into the website! This should be done by this weekend.
- Since it’s been some time since we’ve all been together, we’d like to plan a family pizza night at Round Table. Please stay tuned for info on date and time. This will be a great way for swimmers and parents to reconnect prior to the start of the season.
- We would like to host the first annual suit and gear swap! I’m sure we all have lots of stuff our kiddos have grown out of that would be perfect for a younger swimmer! Stay tuned for location, date and time of this new tradition as well.
Fins - We ask that all swimmers have their own pair of floating swim fins. If you would like to purchase fins, you can find our recommend fin brands in the team store we have set up at Swimoutlet.com (swimmers only need one set of fins). Please make sure you label fins with your name so we can more easily reunite lost fins with their swimmer. Mini Dolfins do not need fins.
I’m working hard behind the scenes to get us ready for a great 2025 season and can’t wait to get started!

A NOTE FROM THE DISTRICT
Welcome to our new families, who have recently been added to the Dolfins TeamUnify Website. New families should have received an email from the Dolfins website to finish setting up their account for the team website. The email has the subject “Your password to access Pleasant Hill Dolfins On-Line”. If you have not received that email, or if the link has expired, you can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. If you still have trouble logging in, please use the “Contact Us” form on the Dolfins website so that we can assist you.
Team Website
Some information on the website is only available if you are logged into the website. Returning families can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page if they have trouble accessing their account.
Please note that each family has one login email. Additional emails on your account receive team communications only. You can add additional emails if there are others who need to receive team emails for your family. When logged into the site, click on the arrow in the menu next to your name, then click on “Update Profile”. Make sure you “Save” when you are done making changes.
Emails from the team website come from [email protected]. Please add [email protected] so that team emails are pushed to your inbox.
Families that swam last year that have not registered by April 1 will be de-activated from the team website and will no longer receive team communications. Register now so you don’t miss out!
Families who used the optional payment plan will have their first payment auto-charged on March 1 (the final payment will auto-charge or April 1). If you need to make changes to your payment method or have questions about your payment plan, you can login to your registration account, or contact our District Office staff at (925) 682-0896.
Work Fee Deposits
ALL families must have a $750 Family Deposit check turned in before they can participate in practices (one deposit per family). Please make checks payable to “PHD” and write the swimmer’s name on the memo line. Checks will ONLY be cashed if work assignments are not completed. There is no Family Fee for families with Mini’s only.
Work assignments will be discussed at the Parent Meeting which will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 7:00pm at the Pleasant Hill Teen Center (147 Gregory Lane).
Checks can be turned into the District Office (147 Gregory Lane, M-F 9am-5pm) until noon on April 14 (the first day of practice). After noon, checks will be collected at the pool when swimmers check in for practice.
Volunteer Fingerprinting
In compliance with California’s Assembly Bill No. 506, all adult volunteers are required to be fingerprinted. If you were fingerprinted last year for the Dolfins, your fingerprints are still on file and you do not need to be fingerprinted again this year. New families or adults who no longer meet one of our exceptions will need to be fingerprinted this year. Families with Mini’s only do not need to be fingerprinted.
Background check results are confidential, and we are unable to share the results of the fingerprint background check between organizations. Even if you have been fingerprinted for a different youth organization (or school), you must still be fingerprinted for the Dolfins.
There is no cost for fingerprinting when parents use a Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District approved Live Scan Location. We are in the process of scheduling on-site fingerprinting dates for the 2025 season and will forward that information when dates are confirmed. Again, if you were fingerprinted for the Dolfins last year, your fingerprints on still on file and there is no need to be fingerprinted again.
More information, including the Live Scan form, will be sent in a separate email.
Please contact Korey Riley at [email protected] if you have any questions about volunteer fingerprinting.
Lifeguard Training
The District is hiring lifeguards and swim instructors for the summer! All applicants need to have American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification. We still have space in classes starting April 7 (spring break) and April 12 (weekends)! These positions are great opportunities for swimmers to give back to their community and learn valuable life skills. Check the website for classes and application information.
