Lifeguards

All YWSC lifeguards are independently certified in water safety, First Aid, and adult and child CPR. The YWSC lifeguard staff is committed to keeping you and your children safe while swimming. They are part of our community and have a shared enthusiasm about YWSC. We take pride in knowing that our lifeguards value safety first.

Lifeguards play an extremely important role at our club and it is important to share feedback if you have any concerns or praise about the job they are performing. Please don’t hesitate to contact any YWSC board member directly with your comments or questions.

Warm sunshine, barbecues, and refreshing jumps in the pool may seem far off, but we’re already prepping for summer 2023 at YWSC. One of our most important tasks is hiring lifeguards to not only help maintain our facility, but most importantly, make our pool a safe place to be.

Certification

Training and certification is required for all lifeguards before they can work their first shift. You must be 15 to take this course. Training can be done in many times and at many locations. For information on local training, you can check out Red Cross Lifeguard Training and PH Rec Lifeguard Training Certification.  They are both hosting certification sessions during Spring Break and even some weekends.

YWSC is also hosting a certification session with Amy Mason (ARC Instructor) this year on April 21-23. Amy hosted a fabulous training for us last summer, so we’re excited to have her back!

Application

The YWSC Lifeguard Application is available now for you to fill out and get back to us too. This application is due March 30, 2023 for all lifeguards, past and present.
