Season Jobs
A season job is a job you will work during the swim season to help the swim team run smoothly. Some jobs are performed at the meets and some are more behind the scenes. Some jobs are preformed at the meets and some are more behind the scenes. For jobs performed at meets, the number of meets you work depends on registration numbers, but generally averages 6-7 meets. Once you sign up for a job, your team leader will reach out to schedule which meets you will work.

Subbing Out Your Job
There are some Season Jobs that take place at the meets that can be easily subbed out and there are some that cannot. If you are planning to sub out all or some of your jobs, please sign up to be a timer or runner.
If you want to hire a sub, you are responsible for finding that sub (WHO Sub list). The fee arrangements are discussed and handled on your own with your sub. The typical fee arrangement for subs is $75 per job for all meets. You must inform your team lead and our Jobs Coordinators with who will take your place at the meet well in advance of the meet.
Spirit Jobs
Spirit jobs are the fun jobs at our various social activities throughout the summer. In addition to your Season Job, all families are expected to work 1 Spirit Job. Exceptions are families with only 15-18 swimmers or only Otter Pups, or if you are a Team Lead, Stroke & Turn Official, or Awards Night Coordinator.

City and Conference Meet Jobs
Since the City and Conference Meets run differently than our usual dual meets, the jobs required to run these meets are a little different than our regular Season Jobs. If your swimmer swims at City Meet and/or Conference your family must sign up for a job at that meet. Signups for these jobs are separate and will come out closer to the meets.
Jobs may include:
- Clerk of the Course (similar to our shepherding team)
- Field Marshal (directing foot traffic, answer questions)
- Set Up
- Spirit Tent
- Tear Down
- Timer
Fines
Parents are responsible for working their swim meet assignments or obtaining a reliable substitute. If a swim meet assignment is not fulfilled completely as scheduled, or there is a no-show by you or your sub, the parent originally assigned owes $100 per missed assignment and your child may be at risk of not being able to compete in the next swim meet until the fine is paid. The fine is payable immediately. This applies to home, away, and big meets. Families that fail to fulfill their assigned Spirit Job are also subject to a fine of $100. These fines are used to cover the cost of a last minute sub to fill your missed job.
