2025 WHO Coaches

Coach Wyatt Moore Head Coach

Hello all WHO swimmers and parents! My name is Wyatt Moore, I’m 20 years old, and this summer will be my 4th summer as a coach and 2nd summer as head coach for WHO. I am currently a third year at UC Davis, majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in education. I grew up in Walnut Creek and swam for the Otters for 14 years, starting when I was just 5 years old. Some highlights of my swim career are winning age group MVP 9 times, breaking 8 WHO team and pool records, winning Conference meet MVP when I was 14, and, my personal favorite, winning conference with the team back to back in 2018 and 2019! My specialty strokes when I was a swimmer were freestyle and backstroke, but I loved to swim breaststroke and butterfly when I got the chance. I can’t wait to create fun experiences and make great memories with all WHO swimmers, coaches, and parents this year! As always, LUTZGONUTZ and GO WHO!

Coach Annie Marinchak Assistant Coach

Annie Marinchak is returning to WHO for the 2025 season. She will coach our Spring and Fall Clinics as well as our April-May practices.    This is Annie’s second season coaching at Walnut Heights and she could not be more excited. She has been swimming rec since she was 5 years old and has been a swim coach for 14 years - including Dewing Park, Walnut Heights in 2018, and four years at Springbrook in Lafayette as a senior assistant coach. Annie swam all four years on varsity at Las Lomas High School. Her main events were 200 IM and 100 Fly. Outside of swim, Annie is a personal trainer and CrossFit coach and is looking forward to coming back to WHO!

Coach Amelia Snyder Assistant Coach

Hey Otters! My name is Amelia Snyder, I'm 19 years old and I just finished my second year of college at San Jose State University and I will be transferring schools in the fall to swim for a more competitive program! As an NCAA Division I swimmer I have a ton of experience and have trained with coaches at the elite level! Before college I swam at WHO during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, during these 2 seasons I was a part of many record breaking relays. I then switched to year round and swam for the Walnut Creek Aquabears from 2020-2022. I am so excited to spend this summer making memories, swimming fast, and most importantly having fun! GO WHO!!

Coach Kate Claus Assistant Coach

Hi all WHO swimmers and parents. My name is Kate Claus, I’m 19 years old and am finishing my second year at Diablo Valley College. This is my third year coaching, but I have been swimming on WHO since I was a 7/8. I’m currently swimming for DVC. Last year was my last year swimming as an Otter. Some of my favorite memories as an otter are: breaking multiple relay records, receiving MVP and coaches award and breaking the conference 50 free record. I’m so excited for the season and can’t wait to see all the swimmers! Go WHO!!

Coach Sophie Moore Assistant Coach

Hi all WHO swimmers and parents! My name is Sophie Moore. I’m 19 years old and finishing up my first year at Diablo Valley College. Most of you have probably seen me as a swimmer and coach around the pool deck over the last few years. Some of you may have also seen me working for Kids Club at Walnut Heights Elementary. I currently swim for DVC, specializing in the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle. I swam for WHO for 15 years, starting as an Otter Pup when I was just 4, and finishing last summer. Growing up on WHO, I’ve made so many great memories both as a swimmer and as a coach. While the memories in the water have been fun, the most memorable part of my 15 summers has been spending time with friends and coaches, connecting with the little ones, and cheering too loud for any swimmer wearing a red WHO swim cap. I am so excited to join the staff for my first full summer, and I can’t wait to make more fun WHO memories with the swimmers, parents, and coaches! LUTZGONUTZ and GO WHO!

Coach Teagan Claus Assistant Coach

Hey OTTERS, my name is Teagan Claus and I’m super excited to be coaching this summer! I began swimming for WHO as an otter pup and am currently a 15/18. Through the summers of swimming on the otters I always looked up to my coaches and am hoping for the young swimmers this year to do the same. Outside of swimming I love playing water polo, being with family and friends, and exploring new things. I have been coaching for about 6 years, started as an otter pup coach and now an assistant coach. I love working with kids while seeing the big smiles on their faces after they accomplish something new! I am looking forward to creating a summer loaded with fun and spirit!!!

Coach Rachel Eger Assistant Coach

Hey WHO fam! My name is Rachel Eger, and I’m super stoked to be coaching again this year! I’m 17 and have been swimming since I was 5, and coaching at WHO for 6 years. I love being in the water, and can’t wait to get back to the pool! My favorite stroke is backstroke, I’ve been a county swimmer since I was 9 and currently have the women’s 100 backstroke team record. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone back on deck this summer, and GO WHO!

Coach Elliott Goldstein Assistant Coach

Hey Otters, my name is Elliot Goldstein. I’m a freshman at the University of Washington and I’ve been swimming for WHO since I was 6 years old. I have previously coached otter pups and have been helping on the pool deck for a couple of years, but I’m excited to officially join the coaching staff this summer. In addition to my summers at WHO, I was a Varsity swimmer for Las Lomas High School for 2 years, and specialized in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM. Some of my swim accomplishments include helping the Las Lomas boys earn 2nd place at the 2024 Diablo Athletic League Championships and swimming the butterfly leg in the Medley Relay during the 2023 Walnut Creek City Meet, breaking the team record. During high school I was also a Las Lomas Varsity water polo for 3 years, and I currently play for the University of Washington Club Water Polo Team. I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the pool deck this summer. Go WHO!!!

Coach Emily Marques Assistant Coach

My name is Emily Marques, I am a first year student at DVC where I study psychology and am on the swim team! While I have not been an Otter all my life, I have done swim team since i was 9 years old and have loved being on the pool deck since. I have been a coach since I was 12 and also ran my own version of otterpups for the last few years. I am super stoked to get to know so many more otter’s this spring and help you all meet your goals!
