Swim Team Volunteer Requirements

Seminole Swim Team Volunteer Requirements

The Seminole Swim and Dive Team, like all members of the All-City league, is wholly dependent on volunteers to provide a superior recreational swim experience to all our members.  As such, we require each family to provide volunteer staffing so that we can run successful meets and events for our swimmers.

A meet can only happen with the physical presence of our volunteers.  We estimate that we need 80 volunteers per home swim meet in order provide the experience that everyone expects when they come to Seminole, either as a swim team member or as a guest.  As such:

  • By registering your child(ren) for swim team, you are implicitly committing to staff the required number of volunteer shifts during swim meets.  The number of volunteer shifts required per family will vary from season to season depending on the number of home meets and Seminole’s All-City volunteer obligation.  In a typical season, a family can expect that 3-4 shifts will be required.
  • Volunteer shifts can be completed across multiple home meets (or the All-City meet) or can be completed within a single meet if needed.
  • If a family chooses not to volunteer, they must indicate this at the time of registration or as close to the start of the season as possible. This will subsequently result in a "buyout" fee of $100 per shift.  Families who partially complete their volunteer commitments will be charged $100 per shift for the shifts that were not completed.
  • Each family will be asked to maintain a credit card on file as part of the registration process.  Charges associated with failure to complete volunteer requirements will be automatically charged to these credit cards.

*Please note that Shark Bite only families are exempt from this policy.

We are looking forward to another fun swim season and we need our devoted volunteers to run a great meet.

Each family is responsible for TBD shifts this swim season. One shift is approximately 1/2 of a swim meet. Please note the specific instructions next to the assignment, (Several Clerk of Course and Computer Scoring count as two shifts because you work the entire meet).

Please note:  Volunteering for social events is over and above your three swim meet volunteer shifts. Volunteering for the social events turns an event into a great one and insures that our children have a fun summer at Seminole.

To Sign Up,

1.  "Sign In" to our TeamUnify site

2.  At the bottom of the home page are all the swim meets for the year.  Click on "Job Signup" next to the meet you want to work at.

3.  Check the box next to the job you want to work and click on "Sign Up" to save your job.

You will receive a reminder email two days before the meet.  You can make changes to your assignment on line prior to receiving the email.  You are responsible for filling a spot you have signed up for.  If you are not able to volunteer for a spot you committed to, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

Please help us plan.  Let us know by email if you are opting out of volunteering.  By opting out you are agreeing to pay $100 per required volunteer shift that is not completed.
