IT'S GO TIME! Your Thursday All City Update!

Kathryn Kuehn

Hello Sharks!

Tomorrow is the first day of All City! I hope everyone is hyped up after the pasta party and ready for an awesome 3 days! This email will have lots of info so please read carefully and remember to contact your Booster Buddies if you have any questions throughout the day! Coaches will be attending all 3 days of All City so they will be extra busy and won't be able to respond as quickly as us parents will!

Let's start with the group competing tomorrow THURSDAY 7/27: Prelims at Goodman for 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 swimmers!

- Warmups with the coaches will be AT SEMINOLE from 6:30-7:15am! Coaches highly recommend individuals swimming freestyle to attend this warm up, if you have later events, you will be able to warm up at Seminole before you head over to Goodman. Remember there are no warmup lanes at Goodman!

- Please remember that due to the heat, tomorrow’s afternoon session will be starting at noon instead of 1pm! Please check the app for updated event times so that your swimmer is at the pool and ready at the correct time!

SENIORS: Please check the emails that have been sent about Senior Recognition and read carefully. Due to the time change, this is now expected to start around 11am! Starting at events 29 & 30, please assemble with your fellow Seniors at Clerk of Course under the Seminole team sign! Follow the instructions in the emails! On behalf of Seminole, we thank you for all your years as a Sharks, good luck and congratulations!

SEMINOLE CAPS: Please see Coach Andrew if you do not have a Seminole cap for All City! He has a few extra that you can purchase via Venmo or cash. Coaches ask that everyone wear ONLY a Seminole cap or turn their cap inside out!

- SWIMMER DROP OFF: Please see the map here for swimmer drop off!  Note that there is no LEFT turn to/from Olin! Please drop your swimmer off all the way at the end, do not stop and drop them off along Wingra. This is for flow and saftey reasons. Tent City is right by swimmer drop off so that the best place! The site map for all of Goodman pool can be found here

And now for our 8 and Unders and 9/10s, here is what you need to know for Thursday 7/27:

- There is no morning practice! You can come to Seminole and practice on your own any time between 7:15am – 1:00pm– coaches will leave instructions on the whiteboard. (There will only be one or two lanes available at Seminole after 10:30am, so plan accordingly).

- 8 & Unders will have a RELAY practice from 6:30-7:30PM AT SEMINOLE!

  • Parents, this practice usually does not last the time entire time, but it is important to attend so that the kids can all practice as a relay. This is also the time to set up a plan with the other parents on the relay for Friday morning! Coaches encourage kids in the 8U medly relay to ride from Seminole to Goodman together following the Friday morning warmups so that all the kids can go to clerk of course together. Remember that missing one swimmer will automatically DQ the entire relay and that's no fun for anyone! It also saves our coaches from having to search all over Goodman for a missing swimmer- we'd much rather them pumping up the kids for a fun relay and day! If you plan on dropping the relay off at swimmer drop off Friday morning, please make sure you have an extra parent there to get the entire relay to clerk of course first thing!
  • I will send another email out tomorrow with specifics on Friday, but feel free to read the info above as you start to plan the day. Remember that only 8 and Unders have relays on Friday- all other age groups (including 9/10s) will be on Saturday!

- Stay cool and get lots of rest, it's a long and exciting day for the younger kids!

Good luck to everyone swimming tomorrow! Stay cool and have fun! Go Sharks!
