All City Volunteer Reminders

Thanks to everyone signed up to volunteer at All City. Here's a few reminders from Goodman in case you didn't get the email earlier.

Greetings All City Clerk of Course and Timer volunteers,

I'm reaching out with a few reminders and hints to make your trip to the pool and parking as easy as possible.

Clerk of Course and Timer volunteers have all-day parking at the Olin Center Lot C at 128 E. Olin Av. (see map here). The parking we're able to use is in the center of the lot (see map pasted below). You should have received your parking pass(es) from your coach. Parking attendants will also have a list of timer/clerk volunteers so they can find you on the list if you don't have your pass.

I highly recommend arriving via west-bound Olin Av, ideally entering Olin via John Nolen.(technically you could take Lakeside St. to Colby to Olin, but we'd prefer you avoid that as there is Woodland preschool pick-up/ drop-off on Colby so lots of small children). I suggest this as there will likely be a back-up on east-bound Olin at times as you approach the pool and Wingra Creek Parkway toward swimmer drop-off, so this way you avoid that completely.

To safely walk to the pool from the parking lot, please cross Olin Av. only at crosswalks. Crossing at one of the crosswalks by the parking lot is best, rather than on the pool side of the Olin Av. bridge. Alternatively, for extra safe crossing, you can get to the Wingra Creek bike path by walking toward the dumpsters to the left of the buliding with the big "Family Service Madison" sign and and then walk underneath the Olin Av. bridge from there.

As FYI, the email list I'm using here is not the most current, so if something has changed with your volunteer commitment and you already informed someone, you don't also need to inform me. If you haven't yet informed someone, please contact our volutneer coordinator, [email protected].

While I have you here, a reminder to download the All City app at home before you come to the meet (or update it if you haven't opened it since last year) as our Wi-fi could be spotty for downloads with such a large crowd. (And don't rely 100% on the app for things like clerk staging announcements since the wi-fi could be unpredictable).
