Your FRIDAY All City Need to Knows!
Hello Sharks!
What an awesome first day of All City! Congrats to all our swimmers today, it was great to see such amazing Seminole swims!
A quick note to Junior Coaches: Coaches are asking that you please get to Goodman by the START of the meet to help with relays! We need all hands on deck to help the younger swimmers navigate All City, especially in this heat!
Tomorrow we see our younger swimmers take their marks! Here is what the families of 9/10 and 8 and Under swimmers need to know for FRIDAY 7/28: 9/10 and 8U prelims, 8U Relay finals
- Warmups with the coaches will be AT SEMINOLE from 6:30-7:15am! Coaches encourage kids in the 8U medly relay to ride from Seminole warmups to Goodman together following the Friday morning warmups so that all the kids can go to clerk of course together. Remember that missing one swimmer will automatically DQ the entire relay and that's no fun for anyone! This helps cut down the choas at the start of the meet and make sure everyone gets to swim! Coaches also encourage those swimming free to be at these warm ups and then go directly to Goodman so they are ready to go to Clerk of Course!
- ONLY 8 and Unders have relays on FRIDAY! All other age groups will have their relays on Saturday!
- SEMINOLE CAPS: Please see Coach Andrew if you do not have a Seminole cap for All City! He has a few extra that you can purchase via Venmo or cash. Coaches ask that everyone wear ONLY a Seminole cap or turn their cap inside out!
- CLERK OF COURSE: Please make sure you and your swimmer are watching for when they need to be at Clerk of Course! Plan to be at Clerk no later than 2 events prior to your event! There is a white board in front of Clerk to let you know who they are clerking, and you can also keep an eye on the All City App!
- SWIMMER DROP OFF: Please see the map here for swimmer drop off! Note that there is no LEFT turn to/from Olin! Please drop your swimmer off all the way at the end, do not stop and drop them off along Wingra. This is for flow and saftey reasons. Tent City is right by swimmer drop off so that the best place! The site map for all of Goodman pool can be found here.
- HYDRATE AND STAY COOL: It will be hot tomorrow! Make sure to keep hydrated, stay in the shade, and bring cooling towels or misters to stay cool! It's a very exciting day so it can be easy to forget that it's also a long day for the younger group!
For those not swimming Friday but Swimming Saturday, here's your Friday 7/28 to do:
Practice on your own at Seminole any time between 7:15am-1:00pm – coaches will leave instructions on the whiteboard. (There will only be one or two lanes available at Seminole after 10:30am, so plan accordingly).
Relay assignments for Saturday relays will be communicated!
There will be an evening Relay Practice/Championship Saturday practice to work on starts, turns, and finishes!!
Evening relay practice times are as follows:
9/10s: 6:30pm-6:50pm
11/12s: 6:50-7:10pm and
13 and Ups: 7:10-7:30pm
Rest up and hydrate!
Saturday Night Banquet!
- I'll send more details tomorrow, but a reminder that we have our end of year banquet after finals on SATURDAY starting at 7pm at Seminole Pool! This is a really fun way to wrap up the season and of course see the awesome end of season slide show! We will not have catering this year, so bring your own food and drink (no glass please!). Cupcakes will be provided! Also bring chairs or blankets to sit on. We will have plaques for sale for $10 and 2023 tabs available for free. No need to RSVP, all swimmers, divers, and their families are welcome! The pool will be open so bring your suit!
I think that's it for today! Please don't forget to reach out to you Booster Buddies if you have any questions! Good luck to tomorrow's swimmers!!!
Go Sharks!
