Junior Coaching

Andrew Cotton
Hey Sharks!

I hope everyone is doing well and is excited for another great summer at Seminole! Below is some information on Junior Coaching if you are interested in being a Junior Coach this year. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Junior Coaching
  • If you are interested in being a Junior Coach, please email me as soon as possible. I want to get the Junior Coaches with their groups by June 11th. Below are the expectations of Junior Coaches. Even after the schedule is sent out, you can still sign up to be a Junior Coach, just let me know.

Expectations

  • Get to practice 5-10 minutes early
  • Before practice and whenever you are unsure of what to do, ask your age group coaches what you can do to help with practice
  • Help pick up kick boards and pull buoys after practice and get the swimmers to help too
  • If you are going to miss a Junior Coaching Session you must let your age group coaches know.
  • If you fail to notify us that you are going to miss a junior coaching session three or more times, we will take you off the junior coaching schedule.
  • If you fail to go to at least 70% of your scheduled junior coaching sessions, then you will not receive a gift at the end of the season.
  • Meeting the approximately 70% mark for Junior Coaching this summer means that you go to 13-14 of your 18-19 practices. If this number changes, I will make sure to let y'all know.
  • If you need to make up a Junior Coaching shift or add another one to the schedule to meet your 70% of required practices, then please talk with your age group coaches.

Age Requirements:

  • Typically our age requirement is you must have completed your first year of high school, however, due to smaller numbers in our 13 and up group, we have decided to change the requirement for this year. This year you must have completed your 8th grade year to be a Junior Coach.
Go Sharks!
