Welcome To Junior Stingrays!

Our Junior Stingrays program prepares our youngest swimmers for the challenges of the Stingrays Swim Team. The focus of Junior Stingrays is on stroke technique development  in a fun-learning environment in preparation for moving on to Stingrays, the next level of Swim Team.

Junior Stingrays swimmers generally swim freestyle and backstroke at home swim meets. However, as Junior Stingrays develop additional skills and with the coach’s consent, they may sign up to swim additional strokes in the "8 and Under" heats and they may swim at away meets.  Junior Stingrays with additional skills development and approval of the coaches may also be moved up into the Stingrays "8 and Under" practice group. Juniors practices are held in the diving well.

To participate as a Junior Stingrays swimmer, a child must be age 5 by January 1st of this year.  Typically, Junior Stingrays age range is five (5) to seven (7) years old. In order to join the team, swimmers must be able to pass the swim test.

Swim Test:  Jump into deep water, recover, swim freestyle (no dog paddle) the width of our diving well and tread water for 1 minute.

Junior Stingrays Parent Participation

Junior Stingrays families are required to fulfill parent job assignments along with all Stingrays families. Parent jobs open on February 12.  Learn more in the For Parents tab.
