Kent Morales
Head Coach
Kent Morales began his swimming career as a youth with the Lucas Valley Waterlogs. Kent swam in the Marin Swim League, Terra Linda High School, USA Swimming, and at College of Marin. As a nineteen-year-old at U.C. Davis, Kent joined the Marinwood Waterdevils as an assistant coach, and worked at that position for two seasons. Shortly after graduating from Davis in 2000, he joined Coach Barb Wheeler at the Marin YMCA Dolphins, where the two coached together for over ten years. In 2001, Kent was the Head Coach for the Lucas Valley Lightning. The following season, he joined the Waterdevils as Head Coach, and has been with us ever since.
Kent is passionate about swimming, and is deeply committed to bringing a rewarding experience to his swimmers. He wants the swimmers to have fun, while realizing the enjoyment of achieving goals through dedication and camaraderie. His greatest thrill as a coach is watching young swimmers mature into fine young adults.
Away from the pool, Kent is an Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at San Rafael High School. He lives in Marinwood and has two fantastic kids, Giselle and Forrest, who both love swimming for the Waterdevils!
Erin Salvo
Assistant Head Coach, Director of the Tadpoles Program
Erin is a longtime swimmer and lives in Terra Linda with her husband and two children. She graduated from California State University, Chico and went on to work in Graphic Design for many years. She decided to take some time away from the workforce to spend time with her kids in 2014. As her children started getting older, she decided to revisit her love of swimming and became a swim instructor at AC Swim Club in 2019 and then joined the Waterdevils coaching staff in 2023.
Erin has loved coaching the Waterdevils these past couple of seasons! Both of her children are on the Waterdevils, and she is very excited to introduce them to the sport she loved so much growing up!
Rachele Gyorffy
Assistant Head Coach
Rachele grew up in Sacramento and has been swimming since the age of 5! She first swam for her summer rec team before transitioning to USA Swimming. She graduated from Princeton University where she was a four-year member of the varsity water polo team.
Outside of the pool, Rachele works for a cybersecurity tech startup helping to build their partner and alliances ecosystem. She lives with her fiance, Matt, and his two boys in Marinwood, just a short walk from the pool. She's super thrilled to be coaching the Waterdevils!
