Scott Valley is proud to announce that we are hosting the 2024 Championship swim meet on June 29th at the Miwok Aquatic Center in Novato!

For new families, the Championships meet, affectionately known as Champs, marks the end of the season with a dual meet featuring all 10 teams in the Marin Swim League. No qualifications are needed—it's an end of year celebration of swim, competition and the best meet of the season.

As we consider our summer plans, let's recognize the importance of uniting around hosting Champs. Alongside fulfilling our regular swim season volunteer commitments, this is our year to bring extra enthusiasm and stepping up June 29^th to get the job done. Hosting Champs is a once in a decade opportunity and it’s all hands-on deck this year.

Currently, we are in search of a Champs lead to make sure we are prepared and host a great meet. If you are interested in taking on a leadership role for planning this special event (it will count toward your six points for the season), please let Richard or me know.

Registration Dates:
*Returning Members: January 16^th
*Returning Non-Members: January 29^th
*New Members and Non-Members:  February 5^th
*Registration Closes: February 29th

Please note that only Scott Valley Club Members are guaranteed a spot on the swim team at the time of registration.  All non-members (including those on the club’s waitlist) are accepted as space allows and at the coach’s discretion.  If your swimmer does not make the team, you will receive a full refund.  Official Roster release date February 20th.

New Swimmers:  anyone new to the Sea Serpents (both Scott Valley Club Members and Non-Members) will need to do a swimmer assessment with Coach Richard.  Please email him ([email protected]) to schedule an assessment before registering.

Important notes for our 2024 Season!

1.     Practice Schedule – Practices begin February 26th and are after school until summer. Starting on June 17th, swim team practices are in the mornings.  If you do not know which Group your swimmer will practice in, please contact Coach Richard.  Please see schedule here:

2.     Calendar – The season begins February 26^th.  Time Trials is April 20^nd, and the not to be missed Champs meet is on Saturday June 29!

3.     Volunteering —It takes over 75 volunteers to run a swim meet!  To ensure the season is a success, each family is required to commit to at least 6 volunteer shifts throughout the season.  Sign Ups will open Tuesday March 19^th and close Aprils 1^st.  Families with ONLY high school aged swimmers are not required to volunteer. However, volunteering at Champs this year is greatly appreciated by ALL families. 

Families may "opt out" of all volunteer shifts (excluding Champs) by paying a "Non-Working Fee” of $750.  For more details, please visit our Volunteer page:

4      Team Suits: swimmers are encouraged, but not required, to purchase a Team Suit for swim meets. T&B Sports will be on deck March 7th 3:30pm-6:30pm for swimmers to try on suits before placing an order.  The Team Suit online store will close March 15th (no exceptions).

5.     Refunds: if your swimmer decides not to participate in swim team, you can request a full refund until March 22^nd.  

6.     Parent Info Night and New Family Social: mark your calendars for the evening of Thursday, March 16^th for a Parent Information Night/Social with Coach Richard and the Sea Serpent Leadership Team!
