Zoom Training: How to Sign Up for Volunteering
- Monday, March 17 at 6:30 pm.
- Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/4156909668
During this time, each family must sign up for Six (6) shifts (points) during the season, including at least one Timing shift. This does not include All-Star Meet or Champs, communication about these special meets will come later in the season.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR VOLUNTEER SHIFTS
- Go to the SVSS home page: Scott Valley Sea Serpents Webpage
- Make sure that you are logged in. If you are unsure of your login and password, please contact our SVSS Website lead, Ryan Johnston.
- Either
- Scroll down under the picture slideshow to the section with white tiles and blue background and select Volunteer Sign Up events under the middle or right column or
- Go to the Calendar page and scroll down to events with "Volunteer" in the title.
- To sign up for a volunteer job, click on the ‘Job Signup’ button to the right of an event for a particular meet or social event/team function, and you will be taken to the list of volunteer jobs available for that event.
- Select the box next to each unfilled job that you would like to sign up for, and then click the "Signup" button at the top or bottom of the jobs list.
Please Note
- You need to sign up for a given volunteer job on the specific day of the event that you click on.
- Swim meet shift times are approximate, some can be earlier or later:
- Shift 1 = First half of swim meet. Medley Relay through Backstroke. May include pre-meet set up.
- Shift 2 = Second half of swim meet. Breaststroke through Free Relay. May include post-meet breakdown.
- The lead coordinator assigned to your job will give you a better indication of timing for each meet.
- For each volunteer job shift, a "point" value is listed. This is the number of shifts the job fulfills.
- You will receive an email confirmation of the jobs you have signed up for. And a reminder 2 days prior to your job.
Every family's participation is essential to the success of the season. If you choose not to fulfill the volunteer commitment to the team, you can pay a non-working fee of $750. The non-working fee does not apply to All Star and Champ and is limited to ten families. Please contact Morgan Howson ([email protected]) and Ashley Watts ([email protected]) to arrange payment.
All families participating in the Champs meet must work a shift, and parents are expected to help out if their swimmer participates in the All Star meet.
Once sign-ups close, you are committed to your shifts. If you need to change them for any reason, you are responsible for finding your replacement. Once you do, please inform Morgan Howson and Ashley Watts, who will be covering your shift.
Finally, Families who have not signed up for all positions or paid the non-working fee will not be able to enter their swimmer to compete in dual meets until this is resolved.
Thank you for your help!
