Welcome to Volunteering
Volunteering and swim team go hand in hand. It takes over 75 volunteers to run a single swim meet!
Each family is required, yes required, to volunteer time and food each season.
Thank you in advance for your help. We literally couldn’t do it without you.
Here's the information you need:
Your Volunteer Coordinators
Please contact them with questions, concerns, changes, or for opt-out status.
Sign-ups
- Volunteer sign-ups open Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at 7 pm.
- You’ll sign up for all six shifts at once, except All Stars and Champs, which will become available closer to the events.
- Sign-ups close on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 pm.
Shifts
- Each family is required to fulfill a total of six volunteer shifts (points). Your family can divide the shifts any way you’d like.
- Shifts and points are one and the same. When you sign up for a shift, you’ll see the number of points your shift fulfills. You need six for the season.
- Timing is one of the most critical roles (and the swimmer-viewing seat on the deck!). Therefore, each family is required to sign up for at least one timing shift as part of their 6 volunteer shifts (points) required.
- In addition to the regular dual meet season, all families participating in Champs must work one additional volunteer shift during Champs. The same goes for All-Stars. These shifts will be available closer to the events.
Accountability
- You are accountable for your volunteer shifts. Once volunteer signups close on April 16, you cannot cancel a shift you've committed to. You must find a replacement for your role.
- Once you find your replacement, please inform Morgan Howson and Ashley Watts, who will be covering for you.
- We have a strict ‘no show’ policy. Failure to meet a volunteer shift may restrict your swimmer from participating in future meets. Not signing up for volunteering or paying the "non-working fee" is considered a 'no show' and will be treated similarly.
Opt-Out of Volunteering
- You may opt out of volunteer shifts by paying a ‘non-working fee’ of $750.
- The number of opt-out families is limited to ten to ensure we have enough volunteers to run the meets.
- To opt out, contact Morgan Howson and Ashley Watts as soon as possible to arrange payment.
- The opt-out deadline is March 23rd. Opting out does not apply to All Stars and Champs. All participating families must work a shift as these meets.
- Families with only High School swimmers are not required to fulfill volunteer shifts for the dual meets (of course, we welcome your help). Families with both a High School swimmer AND an age group swimmer must fulfill their volunteer shifts. We ask that you volunteer at All Stars (if your child qualifies) and Champs.
Experience
- There are plenty of jobs that don't require any prior experience.
- Don’t be afraid to sign up for something you have never done! If a job is new to you, we’ll help you get trained and ready. Not to worry!
- Jobs that require prior experience are pre-filled with parents with experience. However, you’re welcome to shadow, so let us know if there’s something that interests you, and we’ll make it happen.
- Some volunteer jobs start before the season begins, and some will have been pre-filled prior to sign-ups.
Food Donations
- Each family must donate one food item during the season to help stock the snack bar at home meets. Hungry swimmers need food!
- The Snack Bar is one of our main fundraisers for the team.
- Food donation sign-ups will be sent separately. Keep your eye out.
Thank you so much for helping make this a super successful season.
