It Takes a Team to Run the Team!
Every family’s help is essential to making each swim meet run smoothly. Please do your part to help make this season a success.

  • ALL VOLUNTEERS are required to SIGN IN AT THE MEET with the volunteer coordinator in order to get credit for serving.
  • You are responsible for finding a replacement if unable to fulfill your duty.
  • Any shifts that you 'no-show' will be billed at the rate of $50 per hour (including snack shack donation shifts).

Officials Training

Attend Officials Training to be able to serve as Stroke and Turn Judge | Announcer | Referee | Starter | Relay Judge – See website for class schedule

Starter

Must be certified - See website for training class schedule.

Announces the starting sequence for swimmers - Insures swimmers are properly set and “starts” the race.
 

Announcer

Must be certified.

Announces the first, second, third, and final calls for the start of each event - Does any other general announcements.

 

Stroke and Turn Judge

Must be certified - See website for training class schedule.

Judges observe the stroke techniques of the swimmers and can disqualify (DQ) swimmers for doing the stroke improperly or not performing the proper “touch” upon finishing.  They also watch relays for correct starts and touches.

 

Referee

Must be certified - See website for training class schedule

Serve as lead race official.

 

Relay Judge

Observe relay exchanges and DQ if necessary.

 

Meet Set up

Arrive at 4:00 – Locate Set Up Instructions on the back of the closet door -  Put in lane lines and starting blocks – Help set up Concessions – Set up Announcer/Starter podium – Mark off area for New Family Liaison – Set up Volunteer Check in area

 

The following jobs are for either 1st half or 2nd half. Each shift is approximately 2 hours long.  Typically, the first job is finished after event 32.

Prep and stock food that is being sold throughout the meet and work as a cashier. First half helpers, arrive at 5PM. 

 

BBQ

Operate the grill, cooking burgers, dogs, etc.  Must follow food server guidelines. First half, arrive at 5PM. 
 

Meet Clean Up

Team Wear Coordinator

Prepare and distribute scholarship application – Explain eligibility at Parent Meeting – Receive completed applications – Form a subcommittee to review applications and award winners to be announced at the Season Picnic.

 

Picnic

Coordinate details for the year end picnic – Communicate details with team parents – Oversee the picnic – Work with coaches on program.

Coordinate with the Board for budget amounts – Gather list of seniors/coaches/others that will be receiving awards/gifts – Purchase/Order all gifts – Turn in receipts for reimbursement
