1. TIME TRIALS: Saturday, May 10 (that's 4 days from now!)

Join us THIS Saturday, May 10 — register here, now for time trials ... a race against the clock. Check in begins at 7:15 AM sharp!

What are time trials? Time trials are essentially a meet without any other teams. Kids will swim each event and set a base time for their season, a benchmark to gauge improvement and help set goals.

Bonus: Time trials help coaches determine how fast our swimmers will be this season.

Each time trials is full of surprises — for kids, parents, and coaches — as we see the side effects of winter growth spurts, winter swim programs, and life in general.

Time trials is also like a "meet shakedown." First-time swimmers and swim parents get a sense of the flow of a meet. Parent volunteers learn how to do their new swim meet gigs. And it is an excellent opportunity to get to know other swimmers, families, and coaches — all of whom you'll spend HOURS with this summer. Find your crew and make swim season fun. This is why we call it the #RioVillage.

Whether this will be your first swim meet or your 15th, this HELPFUL INFORMATION TO SURVIVE A SWIM MEET is, well, quite helpful. Be sure to scroll past the schedule to see the full "guide."

PRO TIP: Write down your kids' times and post them in a prominent location in the house. They're a great motivator in the early season as swimmers get into shape and practice better technique. Get ready

to watch those times drop.

P.S. Don't forget to sign up for a job. A great chance to LEARN! Click the green Job Sign Up button. Follow the 3-step process outlined at the top of the page. Be sure to add the name of the person actually working the shift (if it's different) as we use this list to print name tags. Duplicate signups with no secondary name listed will be deleted. #SorryNotSorry

P.P.S. Interested in shadowing for trained positions like stroke and turn? Of course you are! Please email Andrew or find him on the deck on Saturday. You'll get credit for training or shadowing!

5. VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Dive into the swim season! We're excited to kick off a great swim season and thrilled to welcome families into key volunteer roles that keep our meets running smoothly! This year, we're especially eager to see new faces learning trained positions like stroke and turn judge, starter, Colorado timing equipment operator, and computer table support. Don't worry — training opportunities will be available during time trials, and you'll also have the chance to shadow and learn from experienced volunteers. Plus, these crucial roles often earn double shift credits! It's a great way to learn new skills, be close to the action, and support our amazing team. Come join us on deck!

6. THE MERCH STORE is closed (for real). Orders are currently processing. The club has purchased a limited supply of items for sale after orders are received. Also, TEAM SUIT orders have been placed ... processing. If you missed the order ...

7. PARENTS' NIGHT was a huge success. Thank you to all who joined us last Saturday to "officially" kick off the season. How about that food, right? Richard would love you all to support this "mom and pop" restaurant, if you can — Our Family BBQ & Pie Take and Bake (find 'em on Yelp).

8. SWIM FUN/FUNNY
