The Rio del Oro Rapids are a recreational swim team competing out of Rio del Oro Sports Club from April 1 through the end of July, with swim clinics available in March.
We are one of the founder members of the Nor-Cal Swim League, a 26-team group that competes against each other across 4 different conferences.
In 2025, the Rio del Oro Rapids joined Del Norte Dolphins, Gold River Stingrays, and Laguna Creek Gators in the Gold Rush Conference. The Rapids will continue to have duel meets with teams from the Comstocks Conference — Elk Grove Piranhas, Johnson Ranch Barracudas, etc.
Online Registration for new and returning Swimmers begins Friday, February 1, with the first day of practice on April 1 (seriously). Practice times are available here. For more information, please call the club at (916) 488-8100.
The Rapids are family-oriented, with many events and activities designed for ... families! Whether it be the family water park trip, dancing to the music at the DJ or Karaoke parties, or just enjoying the competitive swim meets, there is something for everyone.
