🔔 REMINDERS 🔔

1. If you happen to grab someone else's swim stuff, please return it to the office or the club's lost and found.

2. Timers and stroke and turn folks: Please attend the pre-meet briefing, even if you are volunteering for the second shift. NOTE: Volunteers must attend timing and stroke and turn meetings at away meets as well.

3. Morning practice started yesterday! Please tap or click here to see the full schedule. A few important notes about the summer practice schedule. First, AM dryland is only T/W/Th. Second, if you (or your swimmer) wish to move up in an age group for morning practice, you must obtain prior approval from Coach Korey or Richard. And third, yes, there is afternoon makeup practice, but only on T/W/Th. Again, please tap or click here to see the full schedule.

4. WE HAVE THE SUNSCREEN (read in the voice of the dude in the old school Arby's commercials) -- big jug of sunscreen that will be by the lifeguard chair at the 8 lane every day at practice if your kids need to reapply.

🗞️ BREAKING NEWS 🗞️

1. REGISTER FOR THIS WEEKEND'S AWAY MEET AT LAGUNA CREEK

First, sign in/out your swimmer(s) — due today, 6/17, by the end of the day! This helps ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.

Second, JOBS. Parents. You are needed, even at away meets! Please sign up here.

THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TODAY (Tuesday, 6/17) by the end of the day.

2. SUMMER KICKOFF PASTA POTLUCK: TOMORROW -- WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, FROM 6 TO 9 PM

It's Summer Kickoff Pasta Potluck time! A true Rapids tradition is just around the corner, Wednesday, June 18, from 6-9 PM (note: we will not hold evening practice).

We will gather under our amazing team tents on the pool deck at the 8-lane pool!

Rapids will provide the tunes, the fun, the laughs, and the basics (serving utensils, plates, napkins, and silverware) and YOU — yes, YOU will bring your favorite dish from your assigned category below, beverages for your family (this is a BYOB event), and, of course, whatever you need for swimming fun in the big pool!

Be on the lookout for Coach Richard's famous pasta dish, a definite fan favorite!

We always need a few fabulous Rapids parents to help set things up starting at 4:30 and clean up when the food runs out.

3. PICTURE DAY + SUNSPLASH: Wednesday, June 25th

On Wednesday, June 25th, there will be NO SWIM PRACTICE. Instead, we'll have pictures in the AM, followed by ... wait for it ... a team event at Sunsplash! Unless you have made carpool arrangements for your swimmer(s), please plan on driving them to/from.

Coach Richard is renting the "Bermuda Cabana" that seats 24 (3, 8-person cabanas side-by-side. It includes a small storage space for valuables (please bring your own lock) and water bottles, as well as some snacks.

To cover Sunsplash admission, Coach Richard is asking for $50 cash from each swimmer attending. The Board will cover the cabana and any other costs. Please bring $50 per participant. Tickets will be reserved during picture time. Cash only, please.

4. SATURDAY, JUNE 28, HOME MEET VS JOHNSON RANCH

Now is the time to start thinking about our 6/28 HOME meet vs. Johnson Ranch.

5. TEAM SUIT UPDATE

They are in! Pickup in the Rio swim office.

6. RAPIDS SHIRTS FOR SALE

We have Rio shirts for sale! White/black, youth and adult sizes AND white/black tank tops, adult sizes. They will be available for purchase at home meets, or you can connect with the lovely Jackie Sueyres via email or cell (916.505.8155). Cash/check or house charge. Let's represent!
