Calling all former Captain Fighting Fish!

We’re working on a special project to honor the incredible leaders who’ve helped shape the spirit and legacy of the CFF. To create a meaningful display, we’re collecting names, years served, and any photos of our past captains.

This is from PHSC swim coach in the early 90s, Matt Ackerman: 

“... my sister, Lisa, was the head coach when she came up with Captain Fighting Fish in the early 80’s.   She was thrilled to hear the tradition is still going. We loved PHSC.”

Here is what Lisa said about creating Captain Fighting Fish:

“We were trying to create enthusiasm and fun for the whole team, not just the good competitive swimmers and we came up with the idea of having a mascot.  I’m smiling really big just thinking about the captains waddling down the diving boards with their flippers, capes and visors through the years.”

Back in the day Captain Fighting Fish wore the cape, visor & fins. You can imagine how hard it was for them to walk in those fins!”
