Jul 31, 2010 One league records fell this week as we wrapped up the season. Sudley's Sam Pomajevch broke his own league record in the Boys 11-12 Fly. In addition to the league records there were 159 team records that fell. We had 2 close meets for second place. In the Green Division Dale City topped Virginia Oaks by 16.5 points and in the Orange Division Stonewall out scored Vets Park by 27.5. Congratulations to Sudley Seahorses and Piedmont Tsunamis for finsishing the regular season undefeated. This week Lakeridge had another close meet. What a week! Congratulations to Southbridge Fighting Seals for their first league win in team history. We also had two meets decided by less than 10 points. Lakeridge edged out Ridgewood by 10 and Montclair Seahawks topped Dale City Frogs by only 4 ponts. Southbrige and Montclair were also two of three teams from a lower divisions to beat teams from higher divisions. The other team was Brookside who beat Wellington. Week 2 saw one league record fall and three meets decided by less than 100 point. Bridlewood topped Brookside by 88, Piedmont was again on the winning side of a close meet as they edged out Kingsbrooke by just 10 points and the closest meet of the week went to Ben Lomond who scored only 8 points more than Lake Manassas. Four league records fell this week as we wrapped up the season. Sudley's 15-18 Boys broke both relay records and Casie Boyle of Sudley knocked off the 15-18 Girls IM, while Piedmont's Nicholas Tremols put his name into the league records book in the Boys 15-18 Fly. In addition to the league records there were 179 team records that fell - 41 of them at the White Division. In comparison to last year, we had nearly 100 more swimmers, almost 400 more splashes, less DQs, and over 400 more time...
It took all year but we finally had some league records fall. Ashland's Allyson Bodmer took down the 13-14 Girls 50 Breast while Kingsbrooke's team Ryan Dunne, Nathan Brown, Jacob Croasdell and Duncan Beavers knocked out the 15-18 Boys Free Relay record.
