Six league records were set this week, three by Kingsbrooke swimmers, 2 by Lake Ridge and one by Piedmont. Piedmont's Sofia Revilak set the Girls 15-18 50 Fly, while Kingsbrooke's Joshua Hochard set records in 9-10 Boys Free and Fly and Melinda Wong tied her 9-10 100 IM record. Week 2 saw only 63 team records fall -- but there were 5 league records that fell. Bridlewood's Spenser Rowe in the 13-14 100 IM, Kingsbrooke's Milinda Wong in 9-10 100 IM, Lake Ridge's Lori Anne Madison set two league records in the 8-U Back and Breast, Westridge's Aris Runnels for 9-10 Fly, and Piedmont's Sofia Revilak broke the second oldest league from 1991 in the 15-18 50 Free. The pools were busy (10395 splashes) and fast today -- 11 League records were broken today in 9 different events and 135 Team records. The league records started to fall early with both Sudley and Braemar's 8&U Mixed Medly Relays breaking the league record in event 1. Then Sudley's Jamie Cornwell continued her record breaking season by setting the league record in the 8&U Free. As we wrap up the regular season meets, once again we saw three league records fall this week. Sudley's Jamie Comwell and Sam Pomajevich have the honors again this week. The league record streak continues. This week it is Jamie Cornwell from Sudley breaking her 25 Metter 8 & Under Back. This week Lake Ridge found themselves once again in the only meet decided by less than 100 point. However, this week they were on the short side - losing to Ashland by only 69 points. There were two other meets with close margins of victories. For the forth consecutive week a league records fallen. Once again Sudley's Sam Pomajevich broke league record. This time Sam broke the boys 13-14 Fly. Lakeridge put on a late surge to surpass Brookside by 91 point. This was the only meet with the margin of victory under 100 points. But, I did have the pleasure to visit a couple of other meets where the score was close through at least the half way mark. The streak is over! Braemar gave Sudley their first regular season loss in well over a decade; topping Sudley by 51 points. Other close meets included Victory Lake by 122 over Piedmont; Dominion Valley beating Blue Division Kingsbrooke by 97; and Wellington coming on late to pass Brookside by 90 point.
