We are now half way through the season with just three meets before divisionals remaining. The weather was hot which seemed to hold off PWSL records being broken this week. But that is not saying we did not have a lot of fast swims this week. With 43% of the times being improvements this week. To put this in perspective, there was 4202 splashes that beat a swimmers seed time!!!!!!!!! On the team front we had two upsets this weekend. Old Bridge edged out West Ridge by just 112 points....
Well the second week of the season only had two thing in common. Was it the weather? No, fears of the rain coming in started on Wednesday and continued until the end of the meets. However, I only heard of a little rain, slight mist and cool temps across the county. All the teams were able to swim and complete the full meets. Last week the scores were not close in most meets however, this week was very different. This week we had five meets that was decided by 244...
Welcome to the 2018 swim season. The weather was great for the start of the season. Just a slight chill in the early morning that quickly turned into a beautiful day. For three swimmers the season started off with a bang. Kingsbrooke had two swimmers set new league records. Lucy Daniel started the day off for event 31 with a new league record of 36.14 in the girl 9-10 50 back. Later in the day Abigail Daniel updated the league record to 34.87 in the 13-14 girls 50 breast stroke...
Well Divisionals are over with a bang this year. With weather concerns hovering as early as Thursday causing concerns on the ability to run the meets. We had a couple meets with a late start being the worst we had to deal with. The swimmers did not seem to mind the weather concerns as we ended up with 5 individual PWSL League records broken by 7 people this week. In the Girls 11-12 50 Meter Freestyle Camille Spink of Piedmont set a new record of 28.23 however, she was just...
Sudley's swimmer Sam Pomajevich broke the only league record to fall this week in the Boys 15-18 IM with a new time of 57.46. This week the weather was warm as well as the water. Due to this only 30 team records went down this week. With next week being divisionals I expect to see lots of team records broken as well as a few league records. On the team front Sudley completed the regular season as the only undefeated team this year. Congrats to SouthBridge as they swam up...
Peidmont's Camille Spink updated her league record in the Girls 11-12 fly with a new time of 30.55. This week we doubled last weeks team records being broke by having 46 fall today. On the team front Sudley is now the sole undefeated team for the season. Congrats to Veterans Park as they swam up a division to edge out MSST this week for the only upset of the week. We have two divisional match ups for the final regular season meet this year. Kingsbrooke will be at Bridlewood and...
We did not have to wait long to see Piedmont's Emma Hannam who tied the league record last week come out strong and set a new PWSL record in the Girls 11-12 Breast stroke with a time of 36.22. Not to be out done, two more league records feel today by Peidmont's Camille Spink in the Girls 11-12 free with a time of 28.31 and Girls 11-12 fly with a time of 30.57. Congrats to both of the ladies from Piedmont. We also had 23 team records that fell today....
The end of an era and 15 league records fall during the Divisional meets. For the first time in well over a decade a team other than the Sudley Seahorses will sit on top of the PWSL standings. The Braemar Blasters finished their perfect season with a solid victory in the Blue Divisional meet. In other Divisional winners included Bridlewood (Black), Kingsbrooke (Red), Montclair (Orange), Ashland (White), Dale City (Green), Southbridge (Purple), and Westridge (Yellow). Southbridge had the closest margin of victory of just 54.5 point over Lake Manassas. However...
We had another 4 league records fall this week and 2 lower division teams top higher division teams. New to the League Record board is Thomas Diaz from Ashland. He set the 11-12 IM this week. Lori Anne Madison from Lake Ridge broke her own league record in the 8 & U 25 Fly and the Westrigde's Aris Runnels set two more records - 10U IM and her own 9-10 Fly. On the team side, Montclair over took a division higher Stonewall and Ben Lomond finished their regular season at...

Lori Anne Madison from Lake Ridge broke her own league record in the 8 & U 25 Breaststroke and the other 3 league records were broken by Westrigde's Aris Runnels. She set records in the 9-10 Free, Back, and Fly - great triple today. On the team side, Sudley held off Piedmont by 54 points, while Montclair was able to top a higher division Meadowbrook...
