The Swarthmore Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Swarthmore Swim and Dive Team to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

All Sea Sharks, Sea Colts, and Dive Team swimmers must be members or on the staff of the Swarthmore Swim Club.  The registration free for the swim or dive team are $175 per person (the Sea Colt developmental team fee is $125).  Additional expenses include purchasing a team suit.  Families are also asked to donate their time to support the team and run meets. 

2025 NEWS 

We’re thrilled to introduce our new swim team head coach, Coulter Morrill! With years of experience coaching at the collegiate and club levels, Coach Coulter brings a passion for swimming and athlete development. He currently serves as an assistant coach at Swarthmore College and previously helped lead Middlebury College swimmers to school records, NCAA qualifications, and All-American honors. A former Division I swimmer and team captain at the University of Maine, he knows what it takes to inspire swimmers of all levels. Coulter is also putting together a team of Assistant Coaches, TBA. 

Based on valuable feedback from our team and club members, we’re adjusting swim team practice times to better accommodate day campers and counselors and busy family schedules. In the heart of our season (mid-June through late July), practices will now be held in the late afternoon and early evening.

SRA Camp Reminder: SRA and SSC are no longer offering a supervised walk from SRA camp to the Swim Club for swim practice. Parents are encouraged to set up carpools or privately hire SRA counselors to assist with getting SRA campers to the club.   ​

EVALUATIONS

Dive Team: No evaluations necessary. Ages rising Kindergarten through rising 12th grade can participate.

Swim Team:

March 25, 2025 Update: The evaluation date has been changed to Wednesday, May 21st and will be held at Strath Haven High School 

All swimmers who finished the 2024 season as a SeaColt and all NEW swimmers ages 10 and under must undergo evaluation by the SSC Coaching Staff on Wednesday, May 21st at 6:00 p.m, at Strath Haven High School (205 S Providence Rd, Wallingford). Please register your swimmer prior to the evaluation. 

  • We will have two half hour sessions:
    • Swimmers with Last Names A-L will be evaluated 6:00-6:30 pm
    • Swimmers with Last Names M-Z will be evaluated 6:30-7:00 pm
  • Swimmers will complete one lap of freestyle and one lap of a stroke of their choice, and finish by treading water for one minute.
  • In order to qualify for the Seasharks swim team, swimmers will need to complete their lap of freestyle in under 30 seconds and swim another non-freestyle stroke legally as well as complete the minute of treading.
  • In order to qualify for the SeaColts pre-team, swimmers will need to complete their two laps without stopping as well as complete the minute of treading.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Registration for Dive and Swim Team will open on March 22, 2025.

Swimmers who need to be evaluated should register by May 16, 2025. All other swimmers should register no later than May 26, 2025.
