Hello and Welcome Deer Brook Divers!
The season starts this Tuesday, May 27, 2025! We are so happy to report that Coach Jake is back again for his 7th year as head coach, and assistant coaches Hannah and Willow are back again as well!
This email is a bit lengthy but has a lot of important information so please read in its entirety!
An important note: It is required by the South Jersey Dive Association that all new and returning divers purchase AAU insurance BEFORE they start practicing.
The cost is $20 per diver and the club code is W39E55.
How do you purchase AAU insurance? It’s fast and easy! Follow this link to the Google doc and it walks you through the process with links to the AAU site.
Please email Lia Stephens at [email protected] a screenshot or other proof of insurance BEFORE our first practice. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Unfortunately, your diver WILL NOT be allowed to participate at practice unless we have proof of insurance!! So please don't forget this important step!

We would like to have a parent/coaches meeting to address the season and any questions you may have, this date and time is TBD, but we are thinking prior to the first pep rally with team photos would be a great time to gather.

Below are the after school practice times starting Tuesday May 27th:
Age 9-10 3:45-4:45
Age 11 and up 4:45- 5:45
Age 8 and under 5:45-6:45
***If your diver cannot make their practice time because of what time they finish school, please let us know and we will do our best to slot them in a later practice.
Practice days for the team each week will be Monday through Thursday.
Friday practices will be held on weeks where there is a meet (6/27, 7/11, 7/18 and 7/25) and is for any divers participating in that meet. It will be a 2 hour slot, 1 hour for drylands and 1 hour on the board to review dive sheets and prepare for the meet. Coach Hannah and Coach Willow will be leading Friday practices. Hours for Friday practices are TBD.

General Dive Meet Information
General Information about Dive Meets:
Each meet is split by age (your age on June 15th): 9 and under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18; Each diver can also choose to dive as a Novice or as JO (Junior Olympic- which requires more dives at a higher level of difficulty). Coaches decide (along with their divers) during practice which dives they will perform at the meet. A link to required dives for each age group is here.

Even if your child is new to diving and doesn't have the required amount of dives, they can still dive in the meet as a Participant diver and get the experience of diving in a meet. Dive meets are a lot of fun whether you’re new to the sport or a JO diver!
