Swim meets cannot run efficiently without the support of many volunteers. Please consider signing up to be a volunteer for one of the positions listed below
Publicity/ Team Picture- Inform area newspapers of all home meets; coordinate with team photographer for team photo and distribute photos once they are finished
Age Group Parent- Girls- Liaison between parents and coordinators. Responsibilities include group basket for banquet and end of season skit/ act. One person for each age group- Little blues, Skipjacks, 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18.
Age Group Parent- Boys- Liaison between parents and coordinators. Responsibilities include group basket for banquet and end of season skit/ act. One for person each age group- Little blues, Skipjacks, 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18.
Lane Timers- Time swimmers in each race using stopwatches provided by the team. One lane timer also records times of swimmers on swimmer card. Time trials, A Meets and B Meets all needed.
Meet Scorer/ Writer- Keeps a cumulative score of the meet. Works with other team to confirm meet score accuracy.
Meet Stager- Places swimmers in event- heat- lane order.
Stager Escort - Walks swimmers from staging area to appropriate blocks.
Parking Crew- Directs Deerbrook cars to park in back field and visiting team to park in front lot.
Bluefish Grill Setup- Arrives before the start of the meet to setup and prepare the Bluefish Grill for business
Bluefish Grill Cleanup- Helps clean up grill area after the visiting team has left.
Bluefish Grill Workers/ Runners- Run a station or table at the grill during a meet on a shiftly basis.
The following positions require additional certification (if interested please see Brian Shuff):
** Meet Place Judge- Stands at the end of the pool and observes the end of the race to determine the finish of all of the swimmers in the race.
** Meet Stroke and Turn Judge- Determines if each swimmer is swimming stroke legally as defined by USA Swimming rules.
