Thanksgiving Meet Recap:
We had another great weekend racing in Nampa this past weekend. Sawtooth sent 18 swimmers to the Nampa Thanksgiving meet and those 18 swimmers swam wonderfully. Overall we saw 48 new best times in 95 swims. Sawtooth swimmers won 19 individual events; Avery W finished 1st overall in High Point for 8 & under girls; Link finished 1st overall in High Point for 8 & under boys; Paxton finished 3rd overall in High Point for 9-10 boys & Chloe finished 1st overall in High Point for 11-12 girls. As a team Sawtooth finished 4th place overall with just those 18 swimmers participating! Congratulations to all the swimmers who raced and swam so well this past weekend.

The ability to get “high in the water” is central to high-performance freestyle sprinting. This is due largely to the fact that getting up and over the surface of the water addresses both sides of the drag/propulsion dilemma at one and the same time.

Neptune Holiday Festival: December 4 - December 7 - Tempe, ASU
The Holiday Invite is an elite Prelim/Final event hosted at the Arizona State University pool. This is one of the largest meets in the country and will feature some of the fastest swimmers in the Western United States. All qualified swimmers should look to attend this meet as a mid season rest meet. Complete meet information is listed on the team website. Entries are closed
Reindeer Games: December 6-7 - Nampa Rec Center
The Nampa Reindeer Games meet is a great developmental meet for our Blue, Bronze, Silver & SR Prep swimmers. This 2 day meet is a great opportunity to race and to get in another fun meet with your friends! Meet registration is open and entries will close on Tuesday 11/25.
Winter Junior Nationals (December 10-13 - University of Texas, Austin):
USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals brings together the fastest 18 & under swimmers in the country to compete over 4 days. This is an amazing meet and we are thrilled to have Sedona representing Sawtooth at this year’s meet. Sedona will race in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM.
Candy Cane Invite (December 20-21 - West YMCA):
Our last meet of the 2025 calendar year will be the Candy Cane Invite at the West Y. This meet will feature age group swimmers as well as masters swimmers. Meet info is up and registration is open.
