Weekly Wave: November 9, 2025

Welcome to another meet week Sawtooth families!  This weekend we host our first ever Sawtooth “Block Party” meets on Saturday & Sunday.  

IDHSAA State Championships:

Wow!  What an exciting weekend at the pool this past weekend for the Idaho High School Association State Swimming Championships!  Sawtooth had 14 swimmers participating in the meet representing four different schools (Bishop Kelly, Boise, Meridian & Timberline).  

Saturday afternoon were the 6A Finals and the races were littered with Sawtooth swimmers.  The 200 freestyle was up first and Sawtooth had 5 swimmers in finals and took home the top 3 spots in the event. Brayleigh got out quick and never looked back, coming home in a 1:51.69 for the win and a new state record.  Gabi had a great swim for 2nd place in a new best time of 1:55.24 while Anja finished 3rd in 1:56.10.  Madeline won the consolation final in a new best time of 2:03.42 for 7th place and Jillian was 2:06.56 to finish in 11th overall.  In the girls 200 IM Sawtooth swimmers finished 1 & 2 again as Sedona got her meet started with a win in a new state record time of 2:03.28 and Anna B finished in 2nd in a new best time of 2:11.52.  Addison raced home to a 4th place finish and dropped over 2 seconds to finish in a new best time of 2:18.99.  In the boys 200 IM, Vince dropped some time (2:12.78) for a 10th place finish and a great swim for Timberline.  Hank was next up in the 50 free and he stepped up and swam a great race to finish in 2nd in a new best time of 21.81.  The 100 fly was up next and Gabi raced home to a 59.20, good enough for 7th place finish.  In the 100 free, Anja finished off her individual events with a 2nd place finish and a new best time of 53.49; Amelia dropped time in the 100 free as well to finish 10th overall for Boise High in a time of 57.71!  Anna B stepped up in the 500 free to capture her 1st state championship in a time of 5:11.96!  Madeline dropped 3+ seconds again to finish in 4th place with a 5:29.29.  Jillian was 8th overall for BK in 5:39.58.  On the boys side, Ares also finished 8th overall and swam a new nest time of 5:17.72! Brayleigh hopped in for the 100 back and once again came out on top of the field to win her 2nd state championship of the day and her 4th in 2 years with a new best time of 57.16.  Hank jumped in next and he had a great swim to finish in 3rd overall on the boys side with a time of 54.44.  In the girls 100 breaststroke, Addison finished in 5th overall (1:11.14); Sedona stepped up to the blocks for the 100 breaststroke looking to defend her state championship from last season.  She not only defended her title, she set a new state record (1:02.43) while finishing in 1st place for her 2nd state title of the day and her 4th individual championship in 2 years.  On the boys side, Vince once again finished 10th in a new best time of 1:04.82.  Overall on the boys side - Hank, Cody & Vince helped Timberline to a 3rd place finish overall.  On the girls side - Amelia helped Boise to a 7th place finish; Gabi led Timberline to a 5th place finish; and Sedona, Brayleigh, Anna B, Anja, Madeline, Addison & Jillian helped lead Bishop Kelly to their 2nd consecutive State Championship!  Congratulations to all the Sawtooth swimmers on an amazing 2025 high school season!

Sawtooth Block Party Meets: November 15-16 - ICAC 

Sawtooth will be hosting two separate fall meets on back to back days the weekend of November 15-16 this year at ICAC.  This will be the first chance for our high school swimmers to participate in a meet with our younger kids.  Meet info & timelines will be sent out asap. 

Nampa Thanksgiving Meet: November 22-23 - Nampa Rec Center

This season, Nampa Swim Team will host a Thanksgiving meet on November 22-23 at the Nampa Rec Center.  With ICAC being closed for the Vandal Invite this weekend, we suggest swimmers take a look at this meet (even if just for one day) to get some racing in.  Meet info will be posted as soon as it is available.

Neptune Holiday Festival: December 4 - December 7 - Tempe, ASU

The Holiday Invite is an elite Prelim/Final event hosted at the Arizona State University pool.  This is one of the largest meets in the country and will feature some of the fastest swimmers in the Western United States.  All qualified swimmers should look to attend this meet as a mid season rest meet.  Complete meet information is listed on the team website.  

Reindeer Games: December 6-7 -  Nampa Rec Center

The Nampa Reindeer Games meet is a great developmental meet for our Blue, Bronze, Silver & SR Prep swimmers.  This 2 day meet is a great opportunity to race and to get in another fun meet with your friends!  Meet information will be sent out as soon as we receive it.
