Volunteer Requirements
Fundraising Responsibilities and Non-Participation Fees (not required for PreK only families):

Scrip Card Fundraising Program:

All MCS families must do Scrip Card Program.


a. Each family is to sell $2000.00 in the Scrip Card Program.
b. Non-participation fee of $1200.00 if you choose not to do the program.

Home and School Association (HSA) Sponsored Fundraising:

Non-participation fee: $100 per event, paid to the MCSS HSA.

a. Support 1st fundraiser Yankee Candle (begins August 27, 2009, ends September 17, 2009, $200 minimum sales per family).
b. Support 2nd fundraiser Raffle tickets (begins October 1, 2009, raffle held in conjunction with the annual Christmas Bazaar, November 2, 2009, $100.00 minimum sales per family).
c. Support 3rd fundraiser date TBD).
d. Support the 4th fundraiser date TBD
Service Hours (not required for PreK only families):

Each family is required to contribute 20 volunteer hours toward the operation of school programs. Should you not meet your hours by 1 May, 2010,you will be billed for the remaining hours at $12.00 per hour. Service opportunities and sign-up forms will be mailed in August. A Maryland and Federal background investigation is required for many, but not all activities. Field trips do not count for service hours.
