Christian Bahr Head Coach & Aquatics Director

Coach Bahr has been involved in competitive swimming since he was 8 years old.  He started his coaching career shortly after his collegiate career ended, spending 12 years coaching in Florida before coming to the Ensworth School.  As a swimmer, Coach Bahr was an NCAA All-American and member of the U.S. National Team.  Fun facts about Coach Bahr:  He was once a local TV news producer, wrote a novel, and was the Head Coach for Brunei at the 2012 Olympics.  As the Head Coach at Ensworth Aquatics, Coach Bahr's athletes have qualified for Winter and Summer Junior Nationals, the U.S. Open, and the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Claire White Senior & Juniors Coach
Coach White has many years of experience coaching and swimming at an elite level. She began swimming in Lenoir City, TN and worked her way into swimming in college at Western Kentucky University. She enjoyed a six year professional swimming career which included a 2012 Olympic Gold Medal. Claire followed that professional career into a successful coaching career in Raleigh, NC for the next seven years. She coached all levels from 8 & under all the way up to coaching a 2020 Olympic Medalist. When coach White is not at the pool she is exploring coffee shops and restaurants in town or enjoying a good book or movie with her husband Jeremy and dog Remy.
Marli McIntire Head Age Grp Coach, Lead TAG4 Coach

Coach Marli brings over 15 years of coaching experience to EAQ. Under her guidance, numerous swimmers in our age group program have earned spots on the Age Group SES All-Time Short and Long Course Champions List, as well as the SES Zone Team, with one former swimmer now a 2024 Olympian. Fun Facts: Coach Marli was a pediatric trauma nurse, competitive ballerina and once rode her horse through the Jack’s drive-thru. Today, she’s passionate about supporting athletes with a holistic approach to swimming, combining her training in Sports Nutrition, PT and Yoga. When she’s not poolside, you can find her at the gym, feeding the Ensworth chickens or enjoying a quiet moment with a book and cup of coffee. 

Victoria Bahr Lead Tag1 Coach

Coach Victoria was a high school and collegiate swimmer, in addition to a CrossFit competitor. She started coaching swimming 20 years ago across various age groups. Some fun facts are that she swam the Maui channel and started driving at 13.

Jamie Burton Lead TAG3 Coach

Coach Jamie has been coaching for going on 7 years.  Her background (and day job) are in Child Development and Special Education and she absolutely loves teaching, encouraging and pouring into kids and their families.  Swimming runs deep in her family, as her Grandmother was a swim coach in the area and her dad, uncle and aunt have all swam competitively and coached at some point in their lives as well!  Her kids are all swimmers and 2 of them are also teaching, which they love!  Swimming is a way of life around the Burton house, it seems!  One fun fact about her is that she  LOVES to shop second hand!  Find Jamie at a thrift store or garage sale ANY day and you'll find her happy! If she’s not thrifting, She’d prefer to be on a beach somewhere.  Her dream is to have a beach house with a resident dolphin that comes to visit her every day! 

Rachel Cannon Lead JR1 Coach

Coach Rachel began swimming at the age 7 and is joining EAQ with 10 years of experience coaching age group swimming in her home town outside of Lexington, Kentucky (Go cats!). She moved to Nashville 3 years ago to pursue her doctorate in Physical Therapy at Belmont University, which she completed in August! Fun facts about Coach Rachel: She is deathly afraid of the ocean, ran a half marathon at Disney World, has never been trick-or-treating and received her high school Van Gogh art award. Having rehabbed several of her own injuries she is passionate about injury prevention and using good technique so swimming can be fun and competitive, and also pain free. She is almost always found with a coffee and can frequently be spotted inside of a Target!

Ethan Cattani Age Group Coach
In addition to being a USAS Coach, Coach Ethan Cattani is a certified CPR/First Aid Instructor dedicated to developing young swimmers holistically—technically, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He brings a rich background from Atlanta, GA, where he trained with Swim Atlanta and Chattahoochee Gold, gaining competitive success under elite guidance. His coaching philosophy blends fun and discipline, joy and determination, always striving to understand his swimmers both in and out of the water.
Guided by his faith, he fosters an environment where every child is encouraged to grow not only as a swimmer, but as a person.
Shannon Chelsvig Age Group Coach

Coach Shannon grew up in Cheyenne, WY and moved to Nashville in 2010. She swam with Nashville Aquatic Club and then collegiately at the University of Wyoming. She swam butterfly and IM in college, but grew up a distance freestyler. Shannon still swims on the Ensworth Aquatics Masters team. She graduated Veterinary School at the University of Illinois and is currently a small animal Veterinarian here in Nashville. Fun fact: Shannon held the Wyoming state records for the 11-12 year old girls 1650 and 1500 freestyle.

Kenneth Crapse Senior1 Coach
Coach Kenny began coaching with Ensworth Aquatics in January 2024.  His competitive swimming career took him to the University of Louisville where he was an All-Conference performer and Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.  He served as team captain and Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative for the swim team.  Kenny also has over a decade of experience in banking and is currently a Senior Vice President for Commercial Banking at First Horizon Bank. 
Kenny primarily works with the Senior 1 training group.  He lives in Bellevue with his wife, Alex, and their dog, Jackie.
Brittany DeValk Age Group Coach

Coach Brittany DeValk grew up in Elk River, Minnesota, where she began swimming competitively in 2006. While in Minnesota she competed for the STMA Sea Devils Club and Elk River High School. Brittany continued her career swimming collegiately in the NCAA at California Lutheran University (CA). She began coaching in 2016 with CVMM, a U.S. Masters team in California, and has since worked with age group, masters, and high school programs across California, Texas, and Minnesota. Most recently, as Head Coach at Anderson High School (TX), she led the Trojans to a 6A Boys District Championship, coached multiple All-American swimmers, and was named 2023–24 Coach of the Year. When she’s not on the pool deck, Brittany teaches in Ensworth’s High School history department. Outside of school, she loves to travel and is always looking for her next passport stamp!

Zachary Gammons Lead TAG2 Coach

Coach Zac has a long history with swimming in Nashville and the greater Tennessee area. He started his swimming career at West Meade Swim & Tennis at the age of six. He attended Ensworth High School where he was the team captain of the high school team. When Ensworth Aquatics first got started, he was one of the first to join. He continued to Rhodes College in Memphis Tennessee becoming a four year NCAA division three athlete. During his swimming career he attended Southeasterns multiple times, qualifying for the SES Zones team twice. He would go on to be a state finalist in multiple events at the Tennessee state meet, as well as multiple conference titles/records once he got to college. In his free time he enjoys performing magic for friends and family, spending time outdoors, and traveling. 

Megan Hellmann Age Group Coach

Coach Megan has loved swimming since she started club swimming at the age of 7. She  was inspired by her swimming career to pursue an MA in Sports and Performance Psychology. Since moving to Nashville 12 years ago, she has coached HS, club and summer swim as well as worked with a number of elite swimmers as a Mental Performance Coach. Fun Fact: Megan went to HS in London and swam against international schools all over Europe and Cairo, Egypt. When Megan is not at the pool, she is training clients as a personal trainer or running after her two young daughters.

Mary Hollister Age Group Coach
Coach Mary is a Franklin, TN native.  She caught the swimming fever in first grade when she started competitive swimming and continued her love of the sport through college, where she swam at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is still an active swimmer as a member of Ensworth Aquatics Masters. 
She has taught swimming and coached at almost every level: from learn-to-swim lessons through Masters. She has coached summer league and served as Swim Team Parent Rep for Old Natchez Country Club Swim Team for over six years.  She truly loves the sport of swimming and to see youngsters develop their own enthusiasm for the water. 
Outside of work and coaching, Mary enjoys swimming, working out, cooking, spending time with her family, and cheering on the Preds and the Titans! 
Mary and her husband, Keith, have two children, Kirby and Susanna Rose, who both swim for Ensworth Aquatics. They also have a 16 year old Westie named Quillen.
Glenn McCall Senior1 Coach
Coach Glenn grew up in Atlanta Georgia where he competed with Swim Atlanta. He went on to compete for the University of Texas in Austin. He was an all American and was a finalist at the NCAA 's. Coach Glenn competed in the 1984 Olympic Trials and finished 6th in the 200 backstroke. He has used the skills and lessons he learned from his experiences to help swimmers in various positions over the years. After his college career, he coached summer league in Austin and was the Head Coach for Longhorn Masters. He coached for Nashville Aquatic Club for approximately 10 years and has been with Ensworth Aquatics since its inception. Fun Facts: Coach Glenn was ranked 1st in the world at one point and had a 13 foot python named "Monty" in college. Glenn is married to Claire McCall and has two sons, Will and Rob. Will is currently working with Enterprise as an assistant manager. Rob is a senior at SMU and finishing his final year of eligibility on the men’s swim team.
Sarah Ockenhouse Age Group Coach
Sarah grew up swimming both competitively and for fun in the Washington DC area. She’s been a coach for the last 10 years, former elementary school teacher, and avid reader. She loves helping kids fall in love with swimming through a joyful approach to practice and meets. Apart from spending time in and around pools, Sarah loves running, cycling, and cooking!

Cissy Fleet Team Administrator

Coach Cissy grew up swimming at WestMeade and later swam at club teams in Nashville, Pennsylvania and Atlanta. She took a pause in college to play lacrosse for four years at the College of Willliam and Mary. She has been coaching for the past 30 years including summer league, middle school, high school and USA clubs. She is delighted to work at Ensworth Aquatics where she can combine her love swimming with her love of organization and all thing technological. When not at the pool, you can find Coach Cissy at the beach, in the garden, reading, or baking, but especially spending time with family, including her two grandchildren.
