National Group Swimmers compete at Santa Clara Grand Prix Meet

  Over the weekend swimmers Matt Abernethy and Kyle Castro from the National Group of the Vacaville Swim Team competed at the Santa Clara International Grand Prix long course swim meet.  Both swimmers gained a tremendous amount of experience competing against National and International level swimmers.

  Matt Abernethy dropped over seven (7) seconds in the 400 Freestyle and two (2) seconds in the 100 Butterfly.  Matt's time of :58.84 in the 100 meter butterfly is a new team record for the 15 - 16 boys.  Congratulations Matt on the new record!

  Kyle Castro dropped over three seconds (3) in the 200 Backstroke, a half (1/2) second in the 200 IM and another two and half seconds (2.5) in the 200 Butterfly breaking 2:10 to go 2:09.27.

Both swimmers showed a tremendous amount of poise and learned a great deal while competing at the meet.
