Waves flow through Junior Olympics!

From Coach Megan:

The Red, White and Blue groups did amazing at JOs! I could not be more proud of my swimmers and how they swam over the weekend. They did a fabulous job of getting up to race and swimming fast! It was the first JO meet for many of the swimmers and I was impressed by how well all the swimmers handled such a big meet!

Congratulations to Julia Miles on earning a medal by placing 8th in the 8 and under 50 freestyle!

From Coach Wedaman:

JO’s was an outstanding meet.  The swimmers did very well with lots of new best times despite the temperature being in the 100’s every day.  Parents you did a great job of helping them take care of themselves. We had several swimmers represent us by earning spots in the finals and earning points for our team at the meet:

Tim Lee, 13-14, finished 4th in the 100 Free, 6th in the 50 Free and 200 Fly, 7th in the 200 Free and 8th in the 100 Fly.

Megan Flynn, 13-14, finished 3rd in the 100 Free.

David Van Buskirk was 6th in the 15-16 200 Breast.

Abby Mitchell was 8th in the 800 Free for 15-16 girls.

The 11-12 girls 400 Free Relay was 8th and was comprised of Gabriela Hernandez, Georgia Guinan, Ginna Lammon and Anne Garcia.

The 13-14 boys were 6th in the 800 Free Relay, 7th in the 400 Free Relay and 8th in the 200 Free Relay.  All the relays were made up of Tim Lee, Taylor Stevens, Boyd Abernethy, and Lukas Bechtel.

Outstanding performances were also turned in by Gabby Harvey, who earned 6 best times out of 6 events, Boyd Abernethy was 6 out of 7, Tim Lee was also 6 out of 7, and David Van Buskirk was 3 out of 3.

Yvette Arca was the sole representative of the National group to attend the meet, and did a fantastic job, swimming 6 best times out of 7 races!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at JOs!
