Waves roll through Gobbler Classic

From Coach Lauren:

Red/White:

Red and White swam fantastic races at the Gobbler Classic. Despite the cold temperatures and long days, everyone swam fast! Congratulations to Jayla Boyd, Rylie Johnson, and Juliette Alagao for all achieving their personal best times in the 50 free! Maya Gioia, Ainsley Orick, Shae McCord, Tiare Holokahi all swam great races and improved their techniques. Daniel Muller, Ethan Bline, Arlton Cabanero, and Liam Kerr had fast turns, good streamlines, and great technique all weekend! Great job swimmers!

Jr2:

Junior 2 had a great meet at the Gobbler Classic! Jadon Alagao, Jazmine Johansen, and Winnie Martin all swam incredibly well. Their hard work in practice showed in each of their races. Their turns were faster, their strokes were better, and their times were fast! All three swam personal bests in many of their events. Jadon dropped five seconds in his 100 breaststroke, going 1:40! Winnie swam the 200 IM for the first time, and conquered the event with a 3:37.26! Jazmine swam a killer 100 IM with fast turns and strong technique, coming in at 1:33.12! Good job to the three of you!

From Coach Megan:

The Blue and Gold groups did a fantastic job at the Gobbler Classic! Both groups came prepared to swim fast and did an excellent job concentrating on their technique and turns. I am so proud of all the swimmers that tried new and challenging events this weekend! Marissa Davi, Julia Miles, Natalie Feike, McKenna Frandsen and Emma Gioia tried the 500 for the very first time! Everyone has been putting in a lot of work in on their technique in practice and it shows! I am excited to see everyone compete at the next meet!

Congrats to Julia Miles and Mitchell Guinan for receiving new JO Times! Congrats to Emily Mueller for receiving a new AA time!

From Coach Wedaman:

The Gobbler was another very good meet for SR 1 and JR 1. We continue to swim with enthusiasm and courage; these are what we have been practicing.

SR 1 had some outstanding swims:

Lukas Bechtel had two new 13 – 14 A times in the 200 and 1000 Free.

JR 1 had 15 new JO times:

11 and 12 years old

Casey Cox added new JO times in the 200 Back and 50 Breast

Anne Garcia added the 200 IM

Georgia Guinan got her first of the season in the 50 Free, 50 Back, 100 Breast, and the 100 and 200 IM

Alex Harris added the 50 free, 100 Back and the 50 Fly

Genna Lammon added the 50 Back, 100 Fly and the 200 IM

13 – 14 years old

Gabriela Hernandez added the 200 Back

Other outstanding efforts were turned in by:

Halle Kuhar-Pitters was 4 for 4 best times

Skyler White has 5 of 7 best times

Patrick Moe was 6 of 8 best times

Makayla Lara was 3 for 3 best times

From Coach Grace:

For both, Senior 2 and Varsity, we reached new best times and made a couple of time standards. Mackenzie Davi, Lindsey Walker and Britney Knight all got new best times in the events they swam that weekend. Rachel Lee scored some B time standards and Marijke Nothaft, Jalen Lloyd and Taylor Petersen landed BB times at this meet! I was very pleased with everyone's performance across the board although something we need to work on as a group is meet attendance. It is important that we get as many swimmers into the meets our team attends. Remember, we are a competitive swim team not a recreational swim team. Your swimmer works very hard at practice and should be given the chance to show off their skills they attain at practice. Again, great job to those swimmers who attended the meet. It was a beautiful weekend for fast swimming. Go Waves.
