Waves Surf Through Last Chance Qualifier

LAST CHANCE MEET

From Coach Carly:

While the red group was not out in full force for the Last Chance Swim Meet it was a great experience. The sun was not out the whole time the kids’ enthusiasm and excitement but shined all weekend.

Congratulations to Jayla for making her JO cut for 25 backstroke, Maya for besting her personal record in 25 breast stroke by over two seconds, and to Daniel for winning his heat in the 25 butterfly - beating his personal best by over 3 seconds!!

In total the kids obtained 12 personal best times.  It was great to see all their hard work in practice paying off in the races. Another positive note was a decrease in the number of "speeding tickets"(DQ slips).  All in all it was a great meet and I can't wait for the next one.

From Coach Megan:

The Black group did fantastic at the Last Chance Qualifier! Everyone came ready to race and did a great job of swimming. We have been focusing on our turns and technique in practice and all the swimmers looked awesome in their races. I was so proud of all the swimmers! Great job everyone!

Congrats to Salome Carmelich, Mitchell Guinan and Julia Miles on achieving new JO times!

From Coach Wedaman:

The Last Chance Qualifier (for Junior Olympics) was a great success for Silver 1 and 2.  As we had a blast swimming fast.  We have been working on having the confidence to go out fast and then having the ability to bring it home very strong and these traits really showed up this past weekend.
