SWAGR Recap 2025

Grace Erkeneff

What a wonderful weekend to have a swim meet although there was a brief moment of rain on Saturday. Otherwise it was super nice to have a meet and the nice weather really helped! There was 73 teams spanning from Montana, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. With only 8 athletes we placed 57th which was not bad because compared to other teams we were consider small.

Last year we only had 3 athletes who qualified for SWAGR but this year we had 7 qualifiers and 1 relay only swimmer. We also had an opportunity to have one girls relay and one boys relay on Saturday and Sunday! The athletes did so well and the Coaching Staff could not be prouder. They were tough against the competition.

Nicky Barrow-Swam the 1650 on Thursday dopping 35.31 seconds and placing 4th overall for 11 year old boys. He also swam the 1000 free on Sunday (this was tough-he had the hardest lineup by far) dropped time in that and placed 4th overall for the 11 year old boys. Had new PR's in 200 free, 50 free, 200 IM and 100 free. He also contributed in the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay.

Emily Blair-First time to SWAGR!!! Had a tough weekend as she had been sick going into the meet but man!!! She held her own, cheered on her teammates and swam the best she could with being under the weather. Even with being sick, she placed 5th in the 1000 free and contributed to the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay.

Jude Cabral-Had a great weekend of swimming with several best times! New PR's in the 100 breast, 50 free, 200 IM, 100 free and the 50 back. He also contributed in the 200 IM relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.

Sebastian Contreras-Vigil-Did very well this given he had swam several of these events at the SNS 14 and Under Champs just two weeks ago! He PR'd in the 200 free, 50 free and the 100 free. He also contributed to the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay.

Keahi Holokahi-First timer to SWAGR!!! Was truly a leader for our girls and it was really cool watching her step into that position. She PR'd in the 50 free and the 100 free. She also was a huge factor in the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay, and the 400 free relay. In the 400 free relay she dropped down to a fast 58.73!!! Not a legal time but this let's me know that going sub minute is very possible!!!

Layla Lightfoot- First timer to SWAGR!!! Big kudos to Layla for coming out and being a relay only swimmer! She contributed in the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay. Guys she is so pumped and told me that she is definitely making it next season with some hard cuts of her own.

Ashton Martinez-First timer to SWAGR!!! He had an awesome meet with new PR's in the 200 free, 50 free, 100 fly and the 100 free. He also contributed to the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay.

Millie Molten-First timer to SWAGR!!! Going into this meet we didn't know how it would go because she killed it at the 14 and Under Champs just two weeks ago. Not only did she do well making it to finals in some events but she also swam for herself!!! She PR'd in the 200 free placing 4th overall for 10 and under girls, 200 IM placing 9th overall for the 10 and under girls, 500 free with an 8th place finish for 10 and under girls, 100 free and 50 back. She also contributed in the 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and the 400 free relay.

Job well done athletes!
