Neptune Achievements, 2005-2006 Season
August 31 officially ends the 2005-06 swim season. Before we move on, it's important to look back and see how far we've come in the past year, so we are in the process of putting together a list of Neptune achievements for the season just ended. Here's what we have so far:
| Neptunes were 182nd ranked team in the US (out of 2454 ranked teams- top 8%), 11th ranked team in Pacific (short course); 214th ranked team in the US (out of 2217 ranked teams - top 10%), 11th in Pacific (long course) according to USA-S/Toyota Virtual Team Championships. | |
| Sixth (6th) place women's team at 2005 Husky Invitational, 2nd at Zone 3 Winter Championships, 1st at REAL, 16th at Long Course JO's (13th among boys); 12th at LC Far Westerns. | |
| The team hosted five successful swim meets and an official's training event in Santa Rosa this past year. | |
| Again were selected USA Swimming Silver Medal team in 2006. | |
| Two-hundred-eighty (280) Neptune swimmers participated in 56 different sanctioned swim meets this past season. The average Neptune swimmer took part in 7 meets (but a few swam in more than 20!) | |
| One-hundred-nine (109) Neptunes qualified and took part in Zone 3 Winter Championships. | |
| Six Neptune swimmers were selected to various Zone or Pacific all-star teams. | |
| Two Neptunes were selected as Outstanding Swimmers in their age group by Pacific Swimming; Neptune Head Coach was selected Pacific Swimming Senior Coach of the Year. | |
| Fifty total team records were broken in the past year: 25 short course and 25 long course, of which 3 were also Pacific Swimming records. | |
| In High School swimming - 3 NCS event championships; 2 all-time Redwood Empire records; 15 league event championships; and 2 league championship records. | |
| Ten (10) Neptunes qualified for Sectionals, and four Neptunes qualified and participated in Spring and/or Summer Senior Nationals. | |
| Four swimmers posted a total of 25 marks in USA Swimming's top 25 age group national rankings. |
