Dear Neptune families,

The SRJC & Neptune Swimming have a wonderful working relationship and we hope to keep it strong for years to come.  We are tenants to the JC and pay rent each month for access to an amazing facility.  We share this facility with SRJC classes, SRJC teams and a few other user groups.

Reminders to the athletes:

  1. On Mondays & Wednesdays - the Indoor pool is used by the JC for a swim class until 4:15 pm.  So we are allowed to be inside to use the locker rooms to change into suits, but otherwise, all athletes and parents should be outside and if athletes need to be inside to change, please keep voices low to not disturb the class.

  2. Showers in the men’s locker room are a constant issue and we need to take drastic measures to remedy this problem.  Starting today and moving forward for an unknown amount of time, all showers in the men’s locker room are off limits.  Maintenance staff continuously finds the shower heads removed from the hoses and kids are using the hose to spray water all over the locker room.  The locker rooms are for changing and using the bathroom.

  3. If you need to drop off your child before 3:30 pm, make sure they have something calm to do (read a book, do some homework, eat a snack), coaches are not expected to be at the facility before 3:30 pm and they are not expected to be yard duty referees.  Most coaches are busy doing things leading up to the start of practice time (4 pm).  We know it is all a big juggling act getting kids to swim straight from school and kids arriving early isn’t a problem as long as they act respectful of the facility and are doing things that don’t create more chaos than is already there.

  4. Keep the facility clean, make sure to pick up after you’ve left the area.  The amount of clothes and equipment that we as a staff pick up each day is crazy.  Our lost and found is overflowing every week with stuff left behind after practices- especially from the dryland/grass area.  I feel bad for us parents and our clothing budgets.

  5. Reminder to parents, the parking lot is chaotic and we have to do a better job of driving slowly.  We have lots of kids walking from their cars to the pool or from the pool to their cars.  Also, please park in an actual parking spot.  The handicap spots located in the front of the facility are not meant for drop off & pick up zones.  The SRJC will be resurfacing the C LOT this summer we’re hopeful that the parking lot will become a little less chaotic once it’s all repaired.

Thank you so much for your help in spreading this message and helping us maintain our strong bonds with the community.
