Hello Neptune Families,

Happy Friday & good luck to the athletes competing this weekend in Napa...swim FAST and have fun!!!

On a more serious note: there was vandalism to the men's locker room last night at Ridgway swim center.  One of the bathroom stall doors was kicked in and broke off of the hinges.  It appears to have happened during Neptune swim time.  I am asking for any information regarding this incident...I am also asking for parents to volunteer their time while at practice to help monitor the locker rooms which should help with the current thefts and deter anyone from further vandalism. 

Also, team rules are specific with regards to NO parents on deck.  This is for multiple reasons: insurance & safety (guards and coaches have to monitor siblings playing on pool equipment, etc), plus it's hard for the coaches and the swimmers to build relationships when their parents are hovering at the end of their lane.  There are bleachers at both location that can be used.  I know this policy has been ignored over the past few years, but I have had many request to start reinforcing it. 

Sorry for the doom and gloom of this email, but in a time when the city is talking about closing Ridgway down it's crucial that we stay in their good graces and don't tarnish the relationship we have spent years building.  Thank you for your understanding.
