LOUISVILLE, KY | Eight MSI swimmers from four clubs represented the LSC at the 2024 Southern Zone Athletes Summit from June 21-23, 2025. The three-day event focused on multiple platforms involving leadership, mental health, college recruiting, social media branding, and governance. Congratulations to Rachel McAlpin who will be representing Mississippi Makos Swim Team and Mississippi Swimming at the USA Swimming Olympic Trials. Rachel competed at the Southern Zone South Sectional Championships in Ocala, Florida. She finished first in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:10.25 to earn the Olympic Trials cut (1:10.29) and also break the Mississippi Swimming open state record in the process. Rachel will now compete in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Field, on Sunday, June 16th.

Congratulations to Warner Russ on being a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American for 2022-2023 competition and academic season. Warner is a Senior at Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood, MS and will be attending Auburn University in the Fall of 2024.
