TSM Head Coach David Kelsheimer has been selected by USA Swimming to serve as Assistant Coach of the U.S. National Junior Team for the 2012 FINA World Junior Open Water Championships to be held in Welland, Canada from August 12-20, 2012.  The 2012 U.S. Junior National Open Water Team will compete against swimmers from more than thirty nations, including Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and South Africa. The Speedo Grand Challenge had an international feel, this year, as many of the fastest swimmers in the world converged on the campus of Irvine High School for a pre-Olympic tune-up.  TSM Swimmers Shine at Canyons   Memorial Day Weekend Meet 75 TSM swimmers competed at the annual Canyons Memorial Day weekend meet. Open to all Southern California swimmers, this was a highly competitive meet, a top 8 division finish was a fine accomplishments. Congratulations to all our swimmers!!   Dear Team Santa Monica (TSM) swimmers and parents,   Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool.  The Scholastic All-America Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event.   To be eligible for this recognition, swimmers must have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade and must be a USA Swimming member athlete.  Eligible times must be swum by June...

Congratulations to Team Santa Monica swimmers Jordan Wilimovsky, Liliana Casso and Brendan Casey for being selected to the National Junior Team which will compete at the World Junior Open Water Championship based on their performance in the 5k this morning. Jordan followed up Friday's 9th place finish in the 10k by placing 2nd, Brendan Casey placed 9th and Liliana placed 5th in the women's race. Congrats to all the TSM swimmers who competed over the weekend and helped put Team Santa Monica squarely on the map of the swimming world....

In this morning's prelim of the Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions in Mission Viejo, senior TSM swimmer Jordan Wilimovsky swam the 400 IM in a blazing time of 4:30.19. This time is fast enough to give Jordan his second cut for the U.S. Olympic Trials to be held in Omaha, Nebraska this June. Congratulations Jordan! A week of training with Olympians, world record holders and world champions had TSM swimmers ready to race on another level at the Australian Age Championships in Brisbane. The team of Liliana Casso, Payton Perrotta, Scott Simmer, Eugene Tee and Brandon Yong returned today after competing at the grueling 6 day meet, which produced lightning fast times, including multiple Australian records.
