National team gathers for staging camp to prepare for worlds TORREMOLINOS, Spain – With FINA World Championships right around the corner, Canada’s national team swimmers are making their final preparations together in one place. Members of the successful Summer Universiade team arrived Wednesday at Canada’s staging camp in Torremolinos, Spain, where the rest of the team gathered Tuesday. The World University Games, one of the most competitive swim meets of the year, has wrapped its pool competition. While most of Team USA travels home, some WUG swimmers continue on to the World Championships, like a rock band touring the world. The WUGs were a successful meet for Team USA.
