Our Mission

Our mission is to help develop swimmers whether it be novice or elite into successful athletes and leaders in a safe and encouraging environment.

East Coast Aquatic Team was formed on July 19, 2015.  Because of his time as a competitive swimmer, Head Coach and CEO, Art Anthony wanted to create an environment where kids can learn how to swim in order to be safe around water as well as have an avenue to transition to year round swimming with a continued passion for this sport while feeling supported in their journey as a swimmer.  He aimed to achieve that through not only offering lessons for children where they continiuously build on their knowledge of safety in the water, but by also creating a team that feels like a family, not just a "swim team".  ECAT continues to keep that dream alive with the support of a coaching staff that harbours the same passion of what a team should feel like and private swim instructors who aim to make the water feel like a safe space for your child. 

Our pool is located at 5905 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23701 behind the Boys & Girls Club.  Our facility is a pool made up of six 25-yard lanes.
