The Shasta YMCA Sharks is the premier swim team in Redding. We offer a guided age-group youth program for children ages 5 and up, from the beginning swimmer to the most competitive and skilled swimmer. When a young person becomes a member of the Shasta YMCA Sharks, he/she learns the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. Swimming, through the Shasta YMCA Sharks, provides physical, emotional and intellectual skills that will last a lifetime.

The Shasta YMCA Sharks is a USA Swimming affiliated team that employs a staff of highly skilled professional coaches. We offer pre-competitive and competitive programs for swimmers of all ages and levels of development, from the five year old beginner to the Olympic medalist.

Mission

The mission of Shasta YMCA Sharks is to provide opportunity and encouragement for each swimmer to fully develop his or her potential in competitive swimming in a safe and supportive environment. The value of this mission is derived from the gradual acquisition of life enhancing attributes such as integrity, commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship, which are fundamental to the pursuit of personal excellence and to the process of striving to "Be The Best That You Can Be."
