Purple Group: Getting started in competitive swimming.

Purple Athletes learn the fundamentals of all four competitive strokes. This group prepares swimmers to start racing in meets. Swimmers joining this group should be able to swim a legal 25 Free with side breathing and a 25 Back.

Practices are offered 3 times a week for 45 minutes. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 4 or more YMCA/USA swim meets.

*Purple swimmers are encouraged to start in September to get a full introduction to the strokes.

Blue Group: Intermediate training group.

Blue Athletes build strength and technique in all four competitive swimming strokes. This group focuses on developing their strokes and building endurance. Swimmers joining this group should be able to swim a legal 100 Free, 100 Back, 100 IM, 50 Butterfly, and 50 Breast. Swimmers should have a high aptitude for dives and turns.

Practices are offered 4 times a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Swimmers are encouraged to attend regular YMCA swim meets and at least 2 USA swim meets.

Bronze Group: Advanced training group.

Bronze Athletes build aerobic capacity, refine technique across all 4 strokes, and learn to increase training intensity. Swimmers joining this group should be able to swim a legal 200 Free, 200 Back, 200 IM, 100 Fly, and 100 Breast. Minimum 1 USA Swimming BB time.

Practices are offered 4 times a week for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Swimmers are encouraged to attend regular YMCA and USA swim meets.

Silver Group: Advanced High School training group.

Silver Athletes are dedicated to the sport of swimming. Swimmers are welcome by coaches invite.

Practices are offered up to 8 times a week for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Swimmers are expected to attend regular YMCA and USA swim meets.
