Swimming Suits

Team Suits should be purchased at B&B Aquatics located at 1163 Colonnade Center, Des Peres, Missouri 63131. Our team suits are now made with a polyester blend that should withstand more laps in the pool, but we still prefer that you do not wear team suits to practice. Please plan to wear a different suit to practice. We recommend an endurance suit from Speedo or something comparable.

Goggles

Please make sure your child has at least 2 pairs of goggles with them at every practice and meet. There is nothing worse than purchasing goggles that leak. Because goggles are important in protecting eyes from pool chemicals and helping swimmers see better under water, here are a couple tips in purchasing goggles. Always try the goggles on before purchasing them! If a store or the packaging doesn’t allow for this, don’t purchase them. Also, in order to test the proper fitting of goggles, try pressing goggles against the face creating suction without using the head strap. If the gasket around the eyes stay suctioned to the face, then this is considered a good fit. There are so many shapes and colors available, but remember that expensive goggles are not necessarily the best. It’s the fit that counts.

Caps

Please make sure your swimmer has a cap with them at every practice. It is important for the kids to get used to swimming with them and putting them on themselves. A team cap is provided to each child to wear at meets, but we recommend your swimmer plan to wear a different cap in practice.

Water Bottle

All swimmers should plan to bring a water bottle to practice. There is a drinking fountain on deck, but it is nice to have the water bottle in arm’s reach right when you need it. Having a water bottle is also great for nutrition and hydration – please only use water or Gatorade.

Kickboard

All swimmers: White, Silver and Indigo Blue Group, we recommend they bring their kickboards to practice.

Pull Bouy

If your swimmer is in the Silver or Indigo Blue Group, we recommend they bring their pull bouy to practice.

Fins

If your swimmer is in the Silver or Indigo Blue Group, we recommend they bring their own swim fins to practice. We primarily use short fins and the following types are recommended: TYR Burners, Finis Zoomers and Speedo Biofins. Choosing between these three styles should be based on which is most comfortable to your swimmer. If you have any questions about fins, please ask Coach Diana. White and Black Group swimmers should not purchase fins at this time.

Mesh Bag

If your swimmer is in the White, Silver and Indigo Blue Group and has a few things they like to bring to practice regularly, they may want a simple, mesh, drawstring bag to bring onto the pool deck.
